Suzuki has launched new Alto (A-star) in paris motor show

from Hindu:
PARIS: Japanese small car major Suzuki on Thursday launched its fifth global model small car, which will be launched in India under the ‘A-Star’ brand by mid-November.

The car, which will be manufactured only at the plant of Suzuki’s India subsidiary, Maruti Suzuki in Manesar in Haryana, will be exported to Europe as Alto.

“This is our fifth strategic global model and will be exported to Europe as Alto... It has been designed keeping in mind environmental performance, stylish design and convenience of usage targeting young customers,” Suzuki Motor Corp Senior Managing Executive Officer and Board Member Toshihiro Suzuki said here. “The car will be launched as A-Star in India but majority of it will be exported as Alto,” a company official said. A-Star is expected to be priced around Rs. 4 lakh. — PTI

Seems to use a lot of stuff from the Swift for the interiors. Steering wheel, gear knob, speedometer, A/C knobs, A/C Buttons, Side vents etc. etc.

Only by sales man....even he was not sure about it. Just look at present situation, launch will be in mid Nov. so i think waiting period scam will be there. Look at the ugly interior of A-star. i10 interiors are far better then this.

All the claustrophobic folks get ready for another round of claustrophobia. Check out the height of the body line towards the rear of the car!

And if I see it correctly, the rear windows cannot be rolled down. These looked to be glued from outside

tail lights are the same. it's just the angle that makes it different.

the rear windows seem to be butterfly ones like the tavera and innova third rows.

I don't think so, check out again and there is an obvious difference. The lights in the Maroon car looks much better.

The white car has a small plastic eye lid which makes it appear smaller, else both are the same.

I agree. The Alto seems to be a well priced, reliable, decent city car with a fantastic a/c and good brake feel.
