slow striptease#2:

vxi will have stereo like the zxi.

zxi will have steering mounted audio controls.
zxi ONLY will come with a tachometer, not Lxi or Vxi.

Just spoke to the friend who went for the training for Astar, he said they were asked to deposit their mobiles outside at the security so that no one takes pics etc, the car is as long as the Wagon R and slightly shorter than the Estilo, looks real nice frm outside as well as inside the small round RPM meter which sits on the dash has been retained, it has the 1litre 3cylinder engine with some new technolegy which cuts the fuel supply and saves fuel when not needed(dident understand wot he said as he was on the bike when i called). Its majorly developed for exports and just 50k AStars wud be for India. Overall quality is much better than its other Maruti models cause he says this is majorly for exports. will post more when i spk to him once he reaches back.

Edit - 3 varients for the A Star ie LXi, VXi and the ZXi which comes with an intregrated stereo etc.
Launch date 99% is the 14th Nov

no diesel since the car is quite small.

the diesel is coming only on splash next march

currently I have a splash brochure with me, which I was reading it right now
(its a European market brochure which still contains all the engine details-1.2 benzine, 1.3 DDIS which will be launched in India.)

if you want, i can scan and upload it, prvided you can understand the FRENCH language.

can we merge this thread with
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...lash-star.html

to avoid any confusion and rename the thread as the one with containing some inside info?

Integrated Sterio 4 speaker (..in Zxi)
ABS EBD Airbags( Std on Zxi opt on VXi)

The Tacho Pod looks really funky.
Digital Fuel Guage.

Wide Wheel base:1405mm.
Good Ground Clearance: 170mm
Low Turning Radious: 4.5 m only(less than alto)

Short Drive feed back:

3 pot engine feels quite torquey and revs freely as well.

Rear seats a tad short on leg room but wide enough for three.

Which gearbox ? The same old in Wagon R/Alto or the one used with G series in Swift or the one used in SX4 with M series engines ?
yes swami, ABS is optional as in swift except that it comes Bundled with Air Bags & EBD too.
I am not sure about the gear bok but from the short drive i took it feels precise and smooth much like the swift.

Dear Sid,
Even Zxi variant does not have steering mounted audio controls..It just has 4 speakers with the Audio System instead of 2 in the VXi
