I have taken the pics of it but the clarity aint so good as it was on a phone cam. The white one looked good and had just Jetta written so no idea about if its 1.6 or not. Will post the pics tommorow

Check out the pictures of my Jetta below. The interiors look solid and very Euro. I don't think wood and beige will work as well as black does in this car.
Darker black and Aluminium inserts in the dash would look great in it.

Highway journeys

Doesn't that mean that its build to reach higher speeds and also be comfortable at high speed long drives on highways, which I am sure many people prefer, especially if they are buying a diesel car for self driving. For a layman customer the first impression of 260 max at the Speedo is much better then that of 200 or 220 max.

In second picture there is 260 KM/H on the Speedo, that's something we don't see in too many cars in India. Just for knowledge, which cars in India below 17 Lakhs have 260 on their speedo?

Sure Jeeta will have this edge in its segment.
Actually Civic has speedo upto 999km/hr... lol

Are we robbed?

From this thread I learn that the price of Jetta will be somewhere around 12 lacs to 15 lacs. When I checked the price of Jetta in USA with 2.5 liter engine, they have quoted $20,000. When you convert it comes to 8 lacs. IF VW charges 2 lacs extra to import some parts as CKD and premium thats fine, but charging a premium of 5 lacs makes me to feel that . I might be ignorant on certain issues, if so please help me in lraning those

I dont think comparing US prices to Indian prices is very appropriate due to lack of taxes etc in US. Take the price of the Jetta in germany. Its around 24-25k Euros for a 1.9 TDi which translates to about 15-16 lakh rupees. Isnt this the price at which they r launching Jetta in India ?

If you have any such expectations you'll be in for a shock.

The price is 14L - 20 L, ex-showroom Bangalore. I got the information of the launch dates, engine options and the price from Elite motors - the VW dealer for Bangalore.

Jetta range starts from just over £15K in the UK which is just over RS12 lakh.

What are they smoking?

The Jetta is competing with the Accord when it should compete with the Civic!!

Well that's their strategy, occupy the bracket above Skoda which is already overpriced in any case. So where the Passat should compete with the Accord/Camry/Teana it is competing with the A4/3/C & similarly where the Jetta should be competing with the Civic/Corolla, it is competing with the Accord!
