No matter what, the vintage guys will beat all the feature dates to classic cars except the digital stuff. Wait until a certain Fiatwala joins the discussion.

Auto Transmission for general public was definitely first offered with the Daewoo Cielo...

Other firsts (I think) for the Cielo were :
1) Rear Window Defogger
2) Height Adjustable Drivers Seat (IIRC)
3) Fog Lights! Front and Rear.

Correct me if I am wrong, and I know you guys will

Think it was the Contessa Classic with the 1.8 ISUZU engine.

Must be the Standard 2000. Contessa was a late entrant in the Power steering game, only the last few years saw the 2.0 DLX model launched with the power steering (by which time, there was no market for the car anymore).

I guess that makes the 2.0 DLX a collector's item

@Mpower - badal was a 3 wheeler, right?

@CalifKnight - IIRC ambys and padminis had syncros. @anarchist, don't these pre-date the 118NE? I definitely remember discussing with our drivers why they press the clutch twice on the buses, and only once on the cars. We had owned Mark II Amby and a padmini "safari". Both were sold more than two and half decades back.

Edit:-

@morelfibre - hahaha. Saw that post only now.

I guess so, some of the first gen 800s and maruti 'vans' (not omni) came with 'Satnley' sealed beams.

Actually it was the 800 but it was not publically available. You had to submit proof of disability to buy an AT version of the 800!!

Both the Fiat & the Amby did not have full-forward synchros on the 'boxes. First gear was non-synchro & at times could be a rather big pain in the *** as my father discovered multiple times! The mechanic had to be called on both occasions to fix it. I would think the 800 would be the first car with a full-forward synchro 'box.
