Today, Tata has displayed a fresh new concept : The Tata Xover at the Geneva Motor Show. Designed with inputs from IDEA, this is the potential Indian offering in the growing Crossover / Utility market.
It could come with a varied number of engine options...right from Euro 3 to Euro 4 spec petrol and diesel engines. Space is a hallmark with more than enough room for 7 adults.
It is still a concept...but I have seen the photos. Looked like the Innova and Xover have a load in common!
Pictures will be uploaded soon
GTO
What about 'Indiva' by tata. Which is also 7 seater and displayed in some Motor Show. Indiva is built on same Indica platform.
Is Xover is renamed from Indiva OR is it the same one
The Xover (Crossover) is called the Indicruz.
Quote:
The new Tata Indicruz marks Tata Motors' first entry into the crossover vehicle segment. It combines the refinement of a car, attractive styling and all-weather performance of an SUV and the versatility of an MPV. The car is proposed to be available with a 90 kW-130 kW range option in diesel and petrol.
Well-suited for highways and city streets, the Tata Indicruz is ideal for comfortable long distance travel. Spacious interiors provide for flexible seating and ample cargo storage space.

not too sure if this is the one....
Had scene a similar pic of a concept sports car by Tata, hope it becomes a reality :)
As abt ethn Indicruz it seems that it will be more on the lines of the Toyota Innova & Tavera coz the article says ita mix of SUV & MPV.
Mr. Detective Psycho!
Nope, thats not the same car. The picture you have is of the Aria (spell check?) - a sporty car concept.
GTO
Is this new concept going to replace Safari when put in to production?
GO Tata!!!
Anyone read Ratan Tata's interview in businessworld? Makes me extra proud to be Indian!!! I know there's alot of flak about Tata quality, but with a man like RT at the helm....this is one company to look out for....how many other indian companies continually stress on being seen by the world or make an attempt at doing things that arent me too.....

Tata has a lot to do to project India as makers of quality automobiles. The disastrous 'City Rover' being a case in point. That car has done more damage than the Export Indica ever did.Work harder Tata! While lazy indians like us sit back and criticize you like anything.Get there....faster!!Scepticism apart, they're doing a great job.Kudos!
This sounds all too familiar as a concept compared to the Indiva. The little glimpse that I did catch on TV, showed the interiors too be awefully same as well. They should wait for the Innova to create a niche for themselves, and then drop to bomb with a comparable but a cheaper vehicle, and they could laugh themselves all the way to the bank.
I'm anticipating a Tata sports car, though no where in the near future, since Ratan Tata said he was keen on one.

The quality of the car seems good, although the design is very conceptual. The front bumper looks tooo plain. But for a concept car I'd give this a 7/10.
