Petra 1.6 ELX?

Hey, hey, hey,

Just looked at the 2005 Car Buyer's Guide from BS Motoring. Now there is a Petra 1.6 ELX, except there is no mention of what this ELX have in it. Without Fiat India website, how are we supposed to know?

Anybody got more details?

One of my colleagues is planning to buy a Petra and he also told me that there is a Petra 1.6 ELX. I remember him telling me that it comes with ABS and EBD. I am not too sure on this, but I can check it up with him.

Well ELX is the fully loaded car. It come with power windows, rear defogger, washer, wiper, central locking, body colored rear view mirrors and all the other stuff. I am not sure if it also has alloys too.

Get to your nearest dealer and he can give you the info. In Palio D, the only model higher than ELX is ELX-SP. It comes with all the stuff in ELX + driver airbag and ABS brakes.

Samurai, what makes you like the Petra over the other cars in this segment even after hearing the horror stories about the ASS, resale value and the company itself.

Just curious, as most people would not even consider it an option anymore.

Some history: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/showpo...33&postcount=1

Besides, what car can beat Petra in both performance & ride quality? We have decided to keep the Santro as the second car, that way we have a backup car too.

May be myself and few others (like Samurai) do not fall into category of "Most people" :-) Or may be we are simlpy insane. I'ld be curious to know if this is Petra Petrol ELX? Petra-D is ELX model, while Petra Petrol is EL model only.

Looks like some new development.

samurai

if you can live with the lower FE and fiat unstability, the petra is the best buy in it's class - too bad, i travel 50kms a day so FE is vv important - hence the palio d - or for a lesser price - the petra 1.6 elx with EBD, ABS would have been awesome - maybe a 2nd car around the corner if i ever win that damn playwin lottery!

of course, junk those stock tyres for something new and masculine - u will be eady to rock

here's what elx has that el doesn't

1) wood trim design front console
2) stone guard
3) central locking
4) rear ashtray, front coin holder
5) rear door child locks
6) power windows front and back
7) body coloured bumpers, fenders and door handles
8) door protection strips

go fot the elx - or the elx-sp

3) power windows (F & R).
4) body coloured bumpers. (but No body colored mirror + door handles)
5) Stone guard
6) not checked rear ashtray and coin holder.

Is it the case that after introducing ELX, EL might have been stripped off?

the elx version is given to both the petrol and the diesel models - however the car in question here is the petrol - as the diesel comes in 1.9 and the petrol comes in 1.2 and 1.6
