Read on autocard india, that fortuner is coming in June 2009 and should/will be priced around 18 Lakhs. Toyata plans to sell 5,000 in the first year itself.

There was statement from Toyota offical at time of launch of facelift Innova about Fortuner coming in this year as CKD units and Camry to be made in India. My Altis would be 'For sale' from the day Toyota officially announce Fortuner launch.

Would it be possible for you to find out if it will be launched with AT ? Autocar report mentioned that it will be launched only with MT.

Most probably Toyota will mess this up big time and launch a 2.7VVT-i Fortuner(Petrol), If it's a 3000CC D4D, Diesel Toyota is going to have a real big party.

even i fear that muneem because recently they were articles in the paper saying that the Land Cruiser(prado) will get a diesel heart,3.0 D4D is shared by the prado also(i think)
i dont think toyota will put the same engine in both the vehicles.. maybe some alternative engine for the prado would change things.

It's confirmed from "insider sources" that the Fortuner is definately coming to a showroom near you by July end and prices will be around 20L ex-showroom Delhi. Will post more when I can dig out more info.
