Shocking design for Tucson's replacement! How on earth i10 and Tucson can have similar design grille! Personally i couldn't just accept this! Hope they follow the Santa Fe's grille design rather as they did in its previous iteration!!! Also the curvatures and black roof reminds me of Muranos.

nice scoop, so Hyundai is planning to launch the latest model, hence the delay. Well, if Hyundai brings it at around 15L then its going to be great.

That's one horrid looking grill and nose on the Tucson. Hyundai going back to basics I guess.

The new Tucson looks like an overgrown i-10 from the front.

With the R-diesel Santa-Fe now launched in Australia it seems sooner than later that we might get it sometime in 1H 2010 (Wishful thinking). 197 bhp and almost 440 Nm on a stock 2.2L engine looks quite decent. I guess the facelift and the engine upgrade was the reason Hyundai had been postponing its launch in India.

I just hope that it is priced below 25L.

Man this R-Series engine will put everything out there into shame. I doubt they will launch R-Series here. They will go with their tried and tested 2.2 liter normal engine because they have to launch Santa Fe at competitive price (lesser or at par with Fortuner)

I don't think the Santa Fe can be priced to succeed in India. There seems to be no way that they can price it under 20L and at that price point no one in his / her right mind would buy it in India.

Now if they introduced a shorter version of the H1, that could be a real game changer. And going by a comparison of prices in other markets, the H1 can be priced at <15L!!

Why can't Hyundai have original designs on their cars. The rear of the Santa Fe bears more than a passing resemblance to the rear of the Q7.

the new tucson looks like an I 10 pumped up on steroids. gone is the casual elegance of the earlier gen Tucson (relatively speaking that is). Now it looks like a serious wannabe's toy.

the santa fe cannot command a similar price as the Toyota's and Honda's of the world largely due to consumer's brand perception of Hyundai. If it comes in at 20 + it will be sitting around in No mans land like the OUtlander is at the moment.

I dont know why but absolutely no one seems to be making any kind of SUV ish thing which is priced plumb in the middle at about 14-16 lacs which segment is absolutely dying for product!
Also the concept of baby SUV at a price point of 4-7 lacs (another segment just dying for product) is being ignored except for that Premier Rio which may not be of the best quality given the fact that we guys here have evolved considerably over the last 7 -8 years!

Sad.

- we are sorely missing an SUV between the Scorpio / Safari and the Endy / Fortuner ranges

Maybe we should open up a separate thread to discuss what could potentially be placed in the 12-15L SUV segment.
