hey type1,

buy, buy, buy! no point waiting, theres no new car coming in the market which will compete with the petra for what it's worth - performance and ride quality. as for fiat - the world platform will help us fiat owners get spares - if fiat survives or doesn't

Hey Type1,
Just go for the car.
Theres no other car in india under 10L which offerssuch a good combination of features, performance, ride and handling, safety and build quality.
Just go for the car and trust me you will not be unhappy.
If you keep a light foot, highway driving will give you 16+ wheras a bit rough will give you in the 12 - 14 depending on how fast you have driven it..
In the city expect an average of about 8.5kmpl with a.c.
Go for it and you will definately not regret it..

Hey thanks all. Your encouragement is what I require. However you have missed out on two things.

1) I am not so much into the fuel economy since I wont be driving all that much. So the Petra makes a lot of sense. And most importantly,
2) My wife has to okay it too. *smiles*

Yes. I want it. I want it. I want it. My precious. *bigger smile*

P.S. The Anurrop guy is coming over to my place to give me and my wife a test drive. He said that it would cost me 5.06 on road. Now that is a bargain I cannot resist. Let me see.

Go for it TypeOne. I just bought the Petra from Anurrop 2 weeks back and the cars zooms like anything.

Sometimes it looks like it has a sould of its own.

Congrats Manu on the buy. Its worth every single penny spend.

There are enough of messages/m2m publicity to discourage the potential buyer. The irony is, only few of them have experienced the product and/or service. While we're debating on FIAT's future, we know well that the only way for them to remain in market is to sell more cars ( not the mere 300-400 pm).

Cream - Yes it is Sunil. Thanks for the reference.
Manu - Any feedback that you have? I know 2 weeks is a very short time. But still.
Lambo - I am not aware of the 'bike' offer I am afraid.

P.S. The test drive is on Saturday.

I bought a car last month, so too early to comment. But let me tell you it's worth every rupee, you spend. That car is far better than other cars in its category. I know, Baleno lovers will start jumping in their seats, but I am talking about complete car and not 0.2 sec difference in 0-100. In other areas like ride quality, no other car even comes close. To top it off, it gives good mileage. (I have not checked it yet, but my friend using it for last 8 months gets around 10 in city).

And for the folks complaining about Fiat A/S/S, I received 3 calls in last month from the dealer, just to ensure that car is going well and to remind me of my first servicing due this month. So, all Maruti and Hyundai folks, stop complaining about Fiat A/S/S.

Only valid point, which holds good against Petra is doubts on future of Fiat (and Fiat India management).

yes,

t1n - i remember too that there was a bike offer in 1 of their (anuroop) ads. that may be for their showroom pieces - but i do seem to see a reasonable amount of petras on the road now - esp in kandivali area (relatively speaking of course)

The reason must be to do with the end of uncertainty over FIAT-GM 'put' saga. Since GM backed out from buying it at hefty payment, people are realising that brand Fiat is there for long.
