The dealer told me that it was used by VW executives in the plant itself. Want to ensure its not a test drive car with a tampered meter.
Anyone know how I can get this verified or any insights that may be helpful.
In case you do go ahead with this car, do get all the tyres changed, as well as battery, (this will be 4 years old next year, and need change) EW from the date you do this deal, all this on the dealers account.

Also extensively check the service history.

All the best, on your PDI.

I am currently facing a similar dilemma. Really liked the Honda civic but it's been discontinued so wondering if I should pick up a demo car from the showroom. How much of a discount should I be negotiating for? 3-4 lakhs or more? Also, can anyone tell me if the diesel is better than the petrol because all reviews are pointing to the same? Better handling than the cvt, better mileage & faster all through.

In my view ball park figure should be 25% but as this discontinued model, it should be more.. but then again it's a HONDA so normal calculation doesn't apply.. May be so the dealer for offer and start from there..

Hello drivethrough,

The Civic is a great machine if someone loves it by heart. And since you have made your mind going for it, try looking out with some flexibility in variants/colours for a piece lying in some dealer's stockyard in HP, PB, HR, DL etc. Since Civic was not a fast moving model, atleast 1 car might be available with some dealer.
If not, 3-4 lakhs was the sum already being discounted when the car was sale in it's last days. The amount you can bargain for should be higher than that definitely given the point you'll be getting a MY'20, discontinued car.

Good luck for your purchase.

Hi,
I was wondering if there was some platform for purchasing Dealer Demo cars. I have been trying to get my hands on the just discontinued XC60 and was hoping to find an unregistered unit at less than 50L ex showroom. Any pointers ??

I have been offered a 4200km driven demo audi q2 which was september 2021 billed car by a dealer. The dealer has quoted me 34lakhs on road daman. It’s a premium plus II variant white color and condition looks good. Q2 has been discontinued and there are no new cars available. Is this a good deal? 6 months warranty has already expired on this car and I can pay 60k more to get extended warranty. The car is my20 manufactured He claims car was only used for display seminars and small test drives. What all should I check for in the car before finalizing it? Any inputs will be greatly appreciated.

Is there a particular reason to go for a Q2? Avoid it unless you have your heart set on it.

34 OTR can get you a brand new Octavia, Compass and other superior cars!

If this is the car you want, then look for any signs of body repair work, paint mismatch, rattles & noises which are unusual.
And please do take it for a long test drive before putting down your money!

Finally, please negotiate the extended warranty into the price you'll pay. And ask for a full service before delivery.

Thank you for your response. I test drove the compass, it was coming up to 29lakh otr and it is a little big for my liking. I want a compact Crossover for city runabouts and once a while long trip. And I want a car from the big 3 german brands, itís going to be my first luxury car and there is no other which I could fit in under 40lakh budget.

I will be taking the test drive on Monday, I have given the booking amount check to the dealer but asked him to deposit it only after I inspect the car and give him a go ahead.

He is very firm on the price and this is the last price he is willing to give it for. Infact I feel this is the last demo car as I enquired with 3-4 other dealers and none have any cars left. All he is doing is giving me free mats. Will definitely ask for a full service.

Maruti dealers have the luxury of selling via True Value Outlets too:

Seems like you're inclined to buy it. Go ahead but please inspect it thoroughly.

Maybe take a friend/your family along to get a second opinion on it during the test ride. Good luck!

Thank you so much. Yes, I have kind of made up my mind on it but just want to be sure before putting in so much money. The dealer told me he will do a full PDI before giving the vehicle to me - is pdi the same as full fledged service?

No the PDI is just an inspection. We have an extensive PDI checklist on Team-bhp. Please take a printed copy along with you to do your own PDI.

Definitely push for a complimentary full service. That's the least the dealer can do to make a sale!

Hi, I myself got a 600km done Q2 last may, premium model here. Car has already done 17500km, runs like a dream. If you are not too bothered about space, it's a great car. Just check the service record, possibly do a yearly service in the deal and run a scanner through for a thorough check.
Rest the deal looks fine and if you consider it is possibly the cheapest entry to the big 3, it's worth it.
Also the other options like compass or octavia don't have the brand image of an Audi. Do factor that in, I'll day negotiate hard by offering 29-30 first up.
Rest I am a DM away.
P.S I know atleast 5 Q2 owners who are really happy.

Cheers
