They can do a BRV or a lodgy sized vehicle with the avanza or even the Rush but it would be priced much much higher than the BRV or Creta so it might end up being a sales dud.

Toyota should look hard at the success of the Marazzo. The segment was left open by Toyota and Mahindra has moved in big time! Toyota could have filled this space long back with the Avanza.

The designers seem to do a good job with the design until they reached the lower half of the bumpers - front and back, they drew some random lines hurriedly to complete it. Not sure who thinks such designs and who approves them.

Isnt the Marazzo much bigger in dimensions? The Avanza is similar in size to the Ertiga checking the specs below:

TBH, I am used to Toyota churning out bland and uninspiring designs. But even that's acceptable like developing a taste for bland food.

But this Avanza?! I am shocked! It has gotta be one of the ugliest vehicles I've seen. These designers need to be replaced. What's with these Toyota design teams?!

We do not have to worry about at seeing such a ghastly looking car in our country any time soon. Toyota is content with the Innova and the fortuner for now. And they would be more than satisfied to see some good numbers of their version of the Baleno and the Brezza. They would not bother with any new launches apart from these 2 Maruti sourced cars for the next 2 years at least.

Upcoming 2022 all-new Toyota Avanza 7-seater MPV for Indonesia.

The next-gen Avanza, codenamed D26A, could be available with either a 1.3-litre 1NR-VE engine or a 1.5-litre 2NR-VE engine. The outgoing Avanza and Xenia use the same powerplants so it’s likely the power output could remain for both engines (97 PS and 104 PS respectively).

Could get the CVT-type automatic, sending power to the front wheels, instead of the rear.

likelihood of the new Avanza offering ‘Toyota Safety Sense’ Advanced Driver Assistant Systems (ADAS) suite which include features such as AEB, Lane Keep Assist (LKA) and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).

Toyota Avanza is reportedly slated for launch before the end of 2021.

With what Toyota has been doing these days, they will take the XL6/Ertiga and rebrand it as Avenza.

They should have brought this in long time back. It would have done will for private and city taxi market.

2022 Toyota Veloz launched in Thailand, Avanza replacement.

- 2 variants, Smart and Premium
- TSS only on the Premium variant
- Apple CarPlay/Android Auto standard

Standard features across the two variants of the Veloz include:

7-inch digital instrument cluster
Electric parking brake (EPB)
Wireless charger
Fabric and leatherette combination seats
Auto A/C
Tilt and telescopic adjust steering

On the safety front, both variants of the Veloz come standard with 6 airbags, blind-spot monitors (BSM), and rear cross-traffic alert (RCTA). However, only the Premium variant receives the basic Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) ADAS package. These include:

Pre-collision System
Front Departure Alert
Lane Departure Assist
Automatic High Beam
Pedal Misoperation Control

Besides TSS, the Premium variant also comes with a 360-degree panoramic view monitor (PVM) while the Smart variant is only equipped with a reverse camera.

Fully imported (CBU) from Indonesia, bookings for the 2022 Toyota Veloz opened earlier this month and the Avanza successor comes with 2 variants in Thailand

The Smart variant is the base variant and starts from THB 795,000 (~RM 103k) while the Premium grade starts from THB 875,000 (~RM 113k). The outgoing Avanza meanwhile, started from THB 649,000 (~RM 82k).

Veloz is a more upmarket version of the Avanza in Indonesia but outside of the archipelago, it seems most markets would only offer the Veloz instead.

Veloz is completely different from the outgoing Avanza. It sits on the unibody Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA) platform which sees the layout shift from rear-wheel-drive (RWD) like its predecessors to a more conventional FWD.

Looking at the new Avanza I think there is a very high chance that the rumour surrounding next gen Innova to be FWD will become reality. One of the novelty factors for a BOF Toyota vehicle will be gone. The market may not care since the new XUV and Safari have all moved to FWD but for suv fans this is bad news (I know Innova is not a suv but I suppose any heavy vehicle has advantage being a RWD).
