Garuda Electric Car to Cost Rs. 4 Lakh

The most super efficient fuel car, Garuda, was finally launched by students of RV College of Engineering, Bangalore. The car has been developed indigenously by the Mechanical Department of RVCE, Bangalore. It shall participate in SAE Supermileage International Competition" to be held in USA and "Shell Eco-Marathon," in the UK.

"The auto industry is hungry for greener technology, lesser emissions and high energy efficiencies, and therefore, several companies have expressed interest in this project. A lot of R&D has gone into it and if not now, then as the project progresses and evolves over time, the components and innovations therein will have the potential for commercialization," says Nishant Sarawagi, Team Leader for Garuda Project.

The commercial launch of the car would finally depend upon the industry response to the students which would require massive amount of financial, technological, marketing and infrastructural support.

Currently, the total cost of project would be Rs 4 lakh that would include domestic and international logistics, PR activities, transportation, administration works, etc. The car speaks volumes about fuel efficiency, energy conservation, greener technologies and a strong contender in the world of alternate energy resources.
