I would suggest a M800.
Reasons
1. Cheap to buy, No burden on ex-chequer.
2. Cheap to run, --"--
3. Politicians fit in the car at the same comfort level as the country is in.
4. Gives a very good feeling of the terrain they are responsible for.

There is one down side though, Many of them dont even fit in this car.

They dont need anything, provide hostel facility in the assembly premises only ,so that morning they will fight there and evening they will fight in the hostel , see how much we can save fuel, traffic, faultu speech, nuisance, give them vacation 10days before vacation.
they really worth nothing.

Give them a San Storm. A perfect vehicle...and they will even feel that they have a unique car compared to all others on the road!!

I agree with GTO, Indigo will look PERFECT. The fact that its made by an indian manufacturer will make them even prouder.

i think MPs/MLAs should not be given any car but buy their own. They should be allowed to claim expenses for mileage used on official work. Lets say 50 rs/km which includes fuel+depreciation.

They will have to ofcourse justify every km expensed. While filling out the expense sheet, they will have to submit fuel receipts as well as hours of travel. if the monintoring agency is honest, it would become easier to keep the system clean and prevent its abuses...

I'll go with Indigo diesel too. Even an Esteem would be alright. Anything more expensive than these two cars is a strict "no". The Skoda Octavia at over Rs.10L is out of question.

The most practical car would be the Indigo for sure.
But tell me how many MPs/MLAs actually use the official cars allocated to them. These are generally used by some of their assistants who follow the big boss sitting in the big car. Its all a status symbol for these guys.
Dont forget its a Power game

LLL,

I agree with your suggestions 100%.They look very good on paper but do you really see that happening ? & the word honesty is alien to the govt. agencies or rather it doesn't exist in their dictionary.
