i quite like the front look of the car in the first picture. gives it a meaner look. the rear is more like an Accord. in the total package i like the only the wheels they are more of the AMG style. i Still vote for my E class, the current generation. this one i have to see how it looks in the flesh.

Why does the rear resemble a Lexus to me?! Very first impression.

Guys guys ...I think it is important to see the car in the flesh I have made similar ghastly reactions to the previous E W211 & the C class when launched in 2002 and 2000 respectively and felt my W210 looked better, but when I saw the W211 in the flesh I felt it was a decent looking car and today it has grown on me so much I think it is a timeless design...some even complained when the round lights came in 1996...so I think if you look at all the pictures on google pics particularly the silver masked AMG version with large wheels you will notice that the squate and the wide stance may make this design look great in the flesh. Same goes for the back although in pics it looks odd I think they have gone for this this extreme peeled back effect/design which will give it a very appealing look mark my words.

I did not like the new C class when I saw it but the new AMG version with the wheels and body kit bought by Autohanger looks hot....had the same ghastly reactions on the pics of the 3 series before launch but bangle no bangle the car looks good in the flesh specially the 325i with the large wheels completes the design. I still think the 7 series looks like a big long brownie on wheels but the new version looks great in pics!!

The S has grown on me as well...so time my friends will sure make you like them

Where has all the "stately appeal" of the merc gone ? The clear lines that defined any Merc are getting blurred.

From being an impressive/imposing looking car with a presence, the Merc seems to be blurring into Jap design territory in some areas

I wish it looks better in the flesh.

If these pictures are anything to go by, I don't think I am buying a new Mercedes for a long time to come. I detest the look of the new C-Class, the S-Class looks disproportionate and lacking in timelessness.....and now this! The current E-Class may be long in the tooth, but the design is clean *classic* Mercedes.

Ditto here. The bonnet looks is bit bangled and the boot looks identical to the old accord; even the c-pillars are identical to the recently phased out accord. The BMW is sculpted so well, every crease and every line adds character to that car. Compared to the 5 series, the E looks like a hideous monster from the front and it appears as if that when they were creating this monster, they flicked the rear from the accord.
I miss the W124.
The steering wheel looks cheap; It looks like a starfish with zits.

The rear of this supposed new E-Class and the new C-Class are the most un-mercedes!! Cover the badge and most casual observers will mistake them for just another japanese car. What the heck are they doing?
