Drawn from a better angle. Still looks not good to me. :-)

NICE to hear that XYLO is being tested at the ultimate four wheel drive territory on a rainy day!

the website has been handled nicely!

mahindra knows how to keep an international class! from their website to their testing all looks so upmarket...and what i felt was really wonderful is the mahindr aambition. they are not even talking of an innova competition. They are claiming it to be better than the sedans...now an MPV claiming that ..has balls!

Also to add is that the M&M has finished giving training to thier select Supervisors and Mechanics from the existing Service outlests about XYLO. One attendee told me that XYLO is good and the engineering has been above than expected!

If they have finished giving training, and if the attendee also knows the car well, then did he give any hint on the launch date. I think the launch date was in second week of december and we are in second week of december.

Also any hint on powertrains ? Toyota Innova till now had a dream run. I think this car can change the scenario in a small way.

The shape of Xylo can be seen by moving the mouse pointer inside the sedan silhouette, which changes shape as you go to each corner.
Any one up to make the complete picture?

XYLO SPECS!!! a sneak in!!

Hi All,

This is what I gathered from the service center supervisor/s who attended 4 days XYLO training program. Communicated Launch Date is 18th Dec(might defer)

Engine:

90 bhp 2.49 CC Crde in 2WD & 4WD options
Gearbox:
Same as mHawk(MJT 530R)
Suspension:
Independent in the front
Multilink in the rear
But has incorporated new designs in shocks and new mounting mechanism for superior comfort
Braking system:
Front Discs & Rear Drums.10" booster in the Master. Top model to have ABS as an offering.
Tyres on 15" rims

Other features:

Roof a/c on the likes of Innova(independent for all three rows)
MBF-Mahindra Body function Module-used to control all electricals

DIS-Driver Information System on Speedo. Inside/Outside Temperature, Relative humidity, Fuel Balance in Km, Vehicle mileage and average speed etc parameters are covered.

This is so much I could cover(auto journalism is my alternate profession!!)

Hope you all find this information useful and also accurate!!

great info getsurya.
i am really curious about the DIS. also happy that the scorpio is more powerful than the xylo! but sad that its just 90 bhp compared to 102 bhp of innova. lets wait for the power-to-weight ratio.

another positives: roof mounted AC, 4WD option and ABS.

If your information is accurate, then IMO, Mahindra is making a big mistake.
1) Engine : Approximately 36 bhp/ltr. I think that this will surely work towards more FE, but why cant we have 120 bhp 2.2 and 140 bhp 2.2 variants. The 2.2 is probably more efficient inherently.

2) Suspension : Why cant we have independent rear ? This will not be an ideal deal for people mover. And why not have FWD rather than RWD in case of 2WD. And in case of 4WD, FWD should be the default rather than RWD.
This would reduce the tranmission loss.

What I expect is that they plonk in the 2.2 and offer in 120 bhp and 140 bhp trim. The true potential of 2.2 motor was not reaveled in Scorpio due to Scorpio chassis. Also they can offer the automatic from Scorpio. This would give them a very good edge as compared to Innova. Good motor, an automatic, good suspension. So they can also target large famalies. I hope they have not messed up with the rear seat space and worked on refinement.
