Funny! I thought exactly the same when I saw the snap yesterday night!

Great minds think alike.

Looks a hell lot like the Scorpio! I am not too sure about the looks, will hold judgement until full profile pictures are available. However, its success is really dependant on the price, reliability, fuel efficiency and how many passengers it can seat comfortably.

Besides the success factors mentioned by GTO, if it is launched with a good engine (power-torque) and 180 or more GC, I'll be a potential buyer.

Agree with GTO. I only wish M&M does better job on plastics & interiors which I was told that they were good. This is a common issue with M&M on Scorpios!!

What now I really wonder is again the old point of placement. Where will scorpio go ? If they slot it below Scorpio, its good, but not above it. First is the market image of Scorpio that happens to be good.
So it has to be below Scorpio. And if its below, then as a better ( expected to be better ) product than Scorpio, people will buy more Xylo and less Scorpio. All confusion.
Depends upon motor and I seriously hope it comes with 2.2 with two different variants like 120bhp ( its same motor as Safari 2.2, but the chassis of Scorpio is dynamically not able to handle 140 bhp ) and 140 bhp. Will beat down Tavera/Grande Sumo to Innova.

most probably, the Xylo will be introduced with two motors, the variant with the smaller motor will be placed below the scorpio and the variant with the bigger 'mustang' motor with more features (which will be launched after few months) and will be priced similar to the scorpio CRDe. i dont think there will be any confusion between both these products as SUV buyers will never buy a XYLO, those looking for the XYLO has different set of requirements than those of the scorpio.

the chassis of the scorpio is very rigid and can easily handle 140 bhp, but M&M were worried about the transmission.

i wont be suprised if it beats down the tavera and grande. what i am waiting to see it how it fares in comparison to the innova, the perfect benchmark in that segment.

That looks really neat. I should reconsider my Scorpio choice and see if I should settle for a Xylo.

The dealer at CBE told me that Xylo is coming out in both the 2.6CRDe as well as the 2.2MHawk.

I admire M&M for maintaining the suspense.. its close to its launch and still no signs of how the car is going to look like..

i personally didnt like the scoop pic though..looks like its decade old when chevvy optra had similar front grill(as some one mentioned.. Daewoo designs..seen all over korean roads)

The main grouse with all Mahindras is the sheer lack of space! From the Bolero to the Scorpio, they are pretty darn cramped. The Xylo simply CANNOT afford to continue this long-standing tradition. Even the Scorpio drivers seat is a tight fit for anyone who is 5'11" +.

P.S. It's gotta be quick though. Many amongst us have experienced the Xylo being R-I-P-P-E-D on the expressway.
