The fogs looks as if from Safari. The grill from S.Korea. The shape, of a Sonalika Rhino.

I would like to post the article from the link 007-bond has posted.
Article :
Quote:
Xylo’s engine is christened as m_eagle. Xylo m_eagle is a 2.5L unit developing 112bhp at 3800 rpm and 240Nm of peak torque. The peak torque will be available from as low as 1800rpm to 3000rpm. Also Mahindra offers plenty of options for the Xylo buyers, Xylo will be available in as many as four variants. Xylo variants are e2,e4,e6 and e8.

Xylo is mm in 4525length,1770mm wide and 1880mm height and a 2760wheelbase of mm. Xylo has a longer wheelbase than the Innova and sources who seen the car tells us that Xylo would be most spacious car in the segment. Xylo is also a true MPV with a seating capacity of eight. E2 variant of Xylo has optional seating capacity of nine. Xylo which comes in four variants comes in eight attractive colours. You can pick Xylo on these colours - fiexy black,reador red java brown,minty green,lucky lilar,gold shimmer, rocky beige and mist silver
Now I am sure they are getting serious as far as space is concerned. The wheelbase is large and this indicates that the vehicle is again a huge vehicle and if its even partially cab forward design, the space to play around will be nice and a real competetion for Innova. Given the engine specs, I think they have tuned it for fuel efficieny, but I wonder on what is this based ? I seriously hope they have not reduced the capacity of that 2.6 tractor derived scorpio unit to 2.5 and said M_Eagle.
Innova engine produces less power but as it is uses tailored blanks, it weighs in less, hence we see them curise at high speeds all day long and dissappear quickly even with load.

From this ad posted http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...ser-video.html,
they are targetting sedans, I wonder how will they manage the feel of sedans with this motor. Agreed it better than Tavera and Innova, but I would still like to see 2.2 with 140 horses doing duty in a VFM package.

1) So no offroading in this, and this is proved by the fact that it wont be available in 4X4.
Seriously Mahindra is targeting UV segment.

2) Now it becomes interesting.
Innova :
Kerb weight = 1590 kg for diesel.
Power = 102 bhp.
Torque = 20.4 Kgm.

Power-to-Weight Ratio = 64.15 bhp/ton.
Torque-To-Weight Ratio = 12.83 kgm/ton.

Xylo:
Kerb weight = 1750 kg ( I think this is on higher side ).
Power = 112 bhp.
Torque = 24.4 Kgm.

Power-to-Weight Ratio = 64 bhp/ton.
Torque-to-Weight Ratio = 13.9 kgm/ton.

So its bang on with Innova and actually considering its UV, its better than Innova on paper. Mahindra is having an excellent competition product at hand to make a bang.

3) Wish it was larger. These mahcines are desinged to do lot of people hauing over large distances.

4) Seems good for a vehicle this long and large.

5) I was expecting Mahindra to offer IRS. It could have blown the competition if it comes with one.

6) May be rear discs could have been offered considering the mass it has and the load it will carry.

So now we'll see numerous threads cropping up

Xylo vs Safari vs Innova vs Sumo Grande vs Scorpio.

but the catchline 'age of Sedan is over" is highly overrated.

I am so eagerly awaiting the launch of xylo . I have already got an ikon tdci booked which is to be delivered between 15th to 20th January. If xylo attracts me physically and price wise I will straight way cancel my ikon booking and going to book a xylo instead. Well lets see what's ahead in my destiny .

@Sowmya- Thanks for that link. Hope its a credible one.
The E6 variant has been given a higher torque at lower RPM, ECU tweaking at work?

Its a nice scoop, but what I cannot understand it why the number plate/license plate still reads " Project Ingeno ". The vehicle has been named as " Xylo ", even the site is created for scoop and lastly we do have a nice add that crushes a car.

Coming to vehicle, the looks could have been better proportioned specially the grille. The present set up makes the car look a little narrow, also the bumper could be better designed. May be they are saving this for cosmetic upgrade when again the vehicle will be branded all new.

I'm praying that it doesn't resemble the 'indianautosblog.com' photo.This is the 21st century , right?. The car in the pic look like another 'Soviet era' contraption from M&M. Did they raid some defunct Russian automaker's plant and carry the dyes away once the regime collapsed?. I have no other plausible explanation as to why M&M designs ugly.I hope the Xylo, when it is revealed breaks the mold.
