Went to check out the xylo today. the base version E2 offers fantastic value!

Has anyone of the forum got an E2 - wanted to know how effective the base version's single AC is. with the huge cabin, is it effective enough?

The salesman mentioned that there is an upgrade in a month - dual AC and some more features, but checked and said that it's a couple of months away - i feel its sooner.

But insights on the E2 version would be valued. thanks

You mean the E2 is going to have dual AC. Is that what the sales guy told you?

Yes - while i was doing a TD. He said that its now available with dual AC (the one in the other 3 variants). When we went back to the showroom, he checked and said that its going to be launched in a month and said that i should go for the current variant as there will be a price increase too - i doubt this and feel he was pushing for a sale i think there is some truth in what he is saying and there is a minor upgrade around the corner and would like to wait.

Would be great if anyone has any insights on this. The E2 is awesome VFM @ 6.9 onroad in Gurgaon.

According to autocar india Nov 2009 issue-

mahindra is planning to launch a base version of the xylo to cater to the taxi market. the base xylo will come with the mustang engine- essentially the same engine as in the M2Di scorpio, but now turbo charged & featuring common rail injection. the mustang motor is expected to develop around 90 bhp.

ROFL with the mahindra engine names. MHawk, eagle, mustang...But if this news is true, then it means

1) M&M not happy with sales numbers
2) The few T-board tata sumo's that are selling are now finished.

I don't recall a new Sumo with the T board? Were you referring to the Grande's? I think Mr. Mallaya bought a few to ferry around the PYT's.

oh, those kingfisher sumos are the ugliest grandes on the roads, wished they had not opted for that funny paint, would have still looked better.

Mahindra launched the Xylo Celebration Edition which is a limited edition Xylo with only a 1000 of these will be sold.

Apart from the European leather upholstery, it has a DVD player and an LCD TV, a new music system, blackened B and C pillars, roof ski racks,new pearl paint job and distinguishing Celebration Edition Decals.
