At last the inevitable has happened. Don't know when our politicians will learn from their mistakes.

They have sent back all the foreign consultants and have suspended work. Nodoubt they are putting some pressure on WB govt and MB. Afterall they have to roll out the Nano by this Oct-08.

The situation around Singur is still not normal. Tata's are informing that they cannot put their workers at risk.

Now the big question is, if Tata decide to pull out, then what will happen to that land they have built he factory ? Its not fertile now and farmers cannot plough through this land. What a waste of time and money...

There are every possibilities that they may go to Uttarkhand. This is just a speculation. But may come true.

Sorav Ganguly bats for Tata!!!

Former Indian cricket skipper Sourav Ganguly on Tuesday batted for the Tata Nano factory at Singur, saying the project would revolutionise industrial prospects in West Bengal.

I am sad because the damn Haryana Governement can't provide electricity and water to residential areas, so the coming of factory will further put more pressure on the resources here, and in the end, its the Gurgaon resident who suffers.

According to the CNN-IBN, the tatas may move over to Uttarkhand or Pune or Dharwad as they already are making the vehicles like tata ace, cars in pune and the buses in Dharwad plants.

(I know I said I was out of here, but...)

Even I am sad, because, as I said before: loose/loose.

The farmers can't have their farms back, because they don't exist any more.

Good news! About time Tatas did it. Now Mamta can have good sleep. But not the poor farmers. Their land prices will hit rock bottom. As it is, WB is known neither for high real estate prices nor for rich cultivation like AP ( rice ) and Punjab ( wheat ).

How I would wish Tatas headed for Vizag, for a change. It's got ports, steel plant and NTPC power unit . What more do Tatas need? Oh, BTW, since it is all back to square one again, launch of Nano would be pushed back by at least 6 months.

(Former) farmland will lie vacant for a few years. It will go out of news and then will be acquired by Chief minister's son for opening a leisure resort .

Hopefully this will teach industrialists a lesson. Deal directly with farmers and not with govt / brokers.
