Awesome looking car, especially the rear.

My getz resale value will go down. :(

If the diesel version is costlier than Getz CRDI, I wonder whether it will be a hit. In India, hatchback is not given same preference as a sedan, Boot matters!!

Well i think Getz 1.1 might sell for sometime as i20 will be more expensive. So the gap between i10 & i20 would is important as Swift is priced between them. Hyundai must think of competing with Swift soon. These i series are quite good lookers i must say. Can we have a i20 sedan to replace Accent , Hyundai???

OT:

Patience my friend. With more hatchbacks coming in few entry level sedan buyers might give a filled loaded B+ segment hatchback a look. Yes the trend will take sometime and yeah not to forget ease of parking a hatchback on Indian roads.

So looks like you disagree with Mr. H S Lheem! See here:

Business Today - Beta - India's leading business magazine.

The car is coming before diwali 2008. Thats just a month away!

Well, last year, the i10 was launched 10 days before diwali - so I think we can look forward to some launch news in the 2nd week of October!

I think you need to get your facts right -here's more links in which the write-up specifically mentions that the i20 will be launched in India during the festive season in 2008.

I cannot say that my info is 100% true and confirmed. I received the info from someone who works for the company owned outlet of the manufacturer. She has seen the car.

I feel that with reports of Hyundai setting a domestic target for the i20 in 2008, the October launch can be trusted to some extend. We dont know, it could be a soft launch like the new City.

Lets leave this argument whether people closely associated with the manufacturer is right or some media report is correct.

We will soon see the truth.

Anyway, if you want to still pursue this issue, do check the following:
a. whether all sales & service staff of dealers have been trained
b. whether necessary road worthiness certificate has been issued by the central & state agencies
c. whether any pre launch buzz is happening at the dealerships

if your answer to these are no, then we are no where close to seeing any new product of any manufacturer

Our indian journos will be surely tracking this launch at the Paris motor show & for sure they will flash the news in just 2 days time!

ciao

Hyundai has to ready RHD cars anyways in order to launch them in important markets like UK, SA etc. so we are also getting them for sure. Remember this is the company that launched the Sonata Embrera in India prior to US and Europe and have always treated India as an important market and manufacturing base.

Not to forget the i10 launch too. As far as I know, Getz is being manufactured only in India and exported worldwide.
