nice scoop.. seems now swift might get a serious competitor.. Maruti needs to buck up now.. maybe they might launch a Swift SPort.. with a 1.6. motor... and 17inchers..

@mods: Didn't find any edit button so double posting.
Seems a Good review. however we have to consider all these are European reviews and the one which will launch in India might be not having few things mentioned.

And you couldnt find the edit button as its there only for 20 mins from the time you post

@Ajay- Seems quiet many people are mentioning 15 jan launch so lets be hopeful.

Quite impossible, if you consider the press articles, rumours going around and Hyundai head in India, MH [or LH] Lheem himself has said that the i20 is of a better build and won't come cheap.

The only possibility that can be guessed is the base variant petrol or diesel may be similar to top end Swift petrol/diesel. Swift may actually not be affected at all, due to i20 [or Grande Punto or Fabia (as seen)]..

I 20 launch date

According to today's Economic times the I 20 is launching this month on the 28thdec.

The deliveries hence will start early next year. This date is just for the petrol version.

The company is not commenting on the diesel version as of now.

Maybe they want to sell all the petrol i 20s they can before launching the diesel version.

With all those features I guess i20 would cost at least 1-1.5 lakhs more than i10.
And the cost might even be higher if they give 1.4 engine instead of 1.2

Jesal,

New cars will keep coming and launches will keep happening.. Some model or the other will always look and seem better than what one has just purchased. I've been a victim too; the Indica Turbo Diesel was launched within a month of me buying the DLS, in 2005.

Never regret your decision. Enjoy your purchase. The way you feel about your car will reflect in the way you drive, so forget all else and be cheerful with ur new car. The i10 is a superior small car too, so nothing there is that you should feel your gaadi lacks. And this is not an advice to you..

Question for members

Does anyone here feel the i20 1.4 ltr 100bhp petrol with all goodies [barring sunroof, maybe], likely to be available for 7 lakhs on-road?

I'm just about to go TD a Fabia 1.4 MPI elegance.

were you really expecting the diesel and petrol together ? no ways they want to make money on this for sure. first they will sell lots of these and then when slow diesel will come maybe with the i10 as well. as of now only petrol. orelse they will have to start discounts on petrol ones on the launch date itself.

Yup. not just me mate but many people were expecting both petrol and diesel launches together.
Disappointing!
