Agree that A-star launch does not carry as much hype as ones mentioned. But I would rather complement Maruti for being able to come up with multiple launches in a year.

Come on! Every car addresses a segment and Alto is powered enough for the segment it is targeted at.

Agreed, but I was expressing my opinion about 'A-Star' and not Maruti/Suzuki's activities in India. Yes they have been very active off late coming up with excellent packages like SX4 and Swift.

As i said before i was just saying that A-Star does not excite me. Period

Why?

My first grouse is the 1.0L engine - I mean come on!, gives us a 1.2-1.3 atleast
Second - from what i have seen and read it appears 'just another' 1000cc hatch from Suzuki.

Maybe so. But i definately find it a boring, cramped hatch.

Wow the official brochure. But come on what a glaring mistake. It says tyres are 155/80-13 and says front 13" disc brakes. lol.

- ABS as an option in VXi is good, provided they can actually give it within reasonable time.
- Integrated audio in VXi comes as good news for non-ICE freaks
- VXi has front & rear PW.
-Power Steering in all variants/

Looks a much better package than Wagon R and seems equal to the Swift. I expect it to be priced between the two.

The brochure shows sunroof, but there is no mention of it in the features list?

It's under accessories DCEite not under standard features. Aftermarket dealer fitting probably.

Overall length slightly smaller than Wagon-R, but wider. Good GC and excellent turning radius.
Positioning looks just above Wagon-R and in long run may be even a replacement for it. I would rather think that it would cannibalize sales within Maruti family and may not affect others too much.

They have gone the i10 way with the intergrated headrests in the front. Looks like a decent package.

looks a very decent package really. nice competition to i10 1.1 methinks.
top end selling for just about 4-4.2 lacs on road should be the ideal price I think.

Great job in procuring the brochure and putting it up here1
Looks like Maruti is seriously targeting i10.
1) Front seat headrests. Wrong move.
2) Sunroof is offered. Again for such a small car, I dont find it necessary.
3) The old Maruti days are back again. Undertyring is again done on this car.
I think that with wider rubber chassis will be able to give optimum experience.
4) Compression ratio on slightly higher side.
5) The car is intended to be four seater as it looks like from the rear seat belts provisions.

Tachometer only on ZXi??????????

Guys, The tachometer which we loved so much here on t-bhp is available on the ZXi version , not even VXi like the Swift. Really Sad. Looks like alloys aren't standard on the ZXi.

Also, today I talked with a sales guy from Maruti. He told pricing would be between 4-5lacs OTR. He told pricing would be slightly above the Estilo.
