OT: Agree with you fully. Cervo should be launched after Splash and give some threat to Spark & others.

Actually went and saw the car in person today. I quite liked the rear (which has been made a lot of fun off here). Bood space is less, leg room is ok, I find it equal to Santra, maybe less, since it was not a direct comparison. The interiors are definitely quite contemprory and miles ahead of Estillo. The radiator is visible from the grill. The front is quite Swiftish. Overall definitely contemprary looks, with rear that to me looks better than i 10. Its a good second car.... or first car, depending on budget. I would definitely want to buy an A Star instead of Estillo or even Wagon R. I am not going into i 10 territory as many in the forum who own a i-10 would just jump the gun.

I very much believe the pricing of the car is a big letdown. It does not look worth for all that money or the segment it is placed in.

It was actually counted as a replacement for Alto and now it has come out as a replacement fitting for alto, but with a pricing nearly close to swift.

A-star or swift

Hey, I am going to buy a car by decemember

I am confused with A-star and Swift. Although A-star being a new release is priced very close to swift lxi version.

Can anyone highlight the good points of A-star over Swift.

thanks

Well, there ain't any good poitns over the swift except that its is a comparitively better city car (smaller size, smaller engine and better FE).

Dont even think about taking it on tours. There aint enough space in the boot, well, infact, there is actually enough space for 1 meduim size suitecase and thats it.
Room on the rear is cramped and sitting there for long hours would actually be a torture.

It is a very great city car, No doubt. But its limited to city usage.

Make your choice.

Swift is definitely better.
Compare the versions for features that you like.

thats it i think these are the good points of A-star

my personal choice would be to go for that i10 AT.

Why cant India move with the rest of the world, i dont think there will be many other countries where manufacturers follow the policy like they do in India of adding replacement models for other markets in India with newer names...

Accent to Verna, Octavia to Laura, Alto to A-Star etc etc and the list goes on.
You also need to think the no of model a company launch in India market.
Toyota -- 3-5 model
Honda - -3-5 model
They all are doing the business for a long time but there is very few model they launch as compare to other country...

Except the front grill, A star resembles with 2008 Kia morning / Picanto ! Check the link below or Kia motor’s website.

I saw Astar yesterday at Pratham motors outer ring road Bangalore.
The plastic is very cheap and when I open the front tray, tray is coming out. Alto interiors look better than Astar.
