Yes, both higher Excise and higher VAT. Diesel is supposed to be the fuel of the Kisan and Aam Admi (no withstanding that he is riding a crore plus SUV) In the UK it is first time in decades when Diesel has dropped below petrol.

I filled up diesel in agra today at reliance bunk at 51.10. Seems it is cheaper than PSU fuel pumps.

Could be esp since Agra is BS-IV. Glad to learn that reliance bunks in UP are also reopening now.

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

@akshay4587; Taxation differs a lot across states. So one has to compare the local prices. UP is quite heavily taxed.

Filled up BP diesel in Bangalore for Rs. 48.76. Can't remember when diesel was last sub-50!

Diesel-petrol difference now at Rs. 19.5 to Rs. 20. in Bangalore at least.

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

Refueled today at Mumbai near IIT Powai and the cost for diesel was Rs 51.2/- per litre. Does anybody recently refuelled in Thane now that the LBT is gone? The prices should be very much same as Mumbai prices isn't it?

Let's see for how long though!

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

This happens to me all the time . I usually refill when the last 5 liters are left in the tank & the very next day they slash the fuel prices. Now that in Bengaluru the diesel is less than 50rs, hope it stays the same for the next few days.

I have always owned Petrol cars and this is my first Diesel Motor and I just can't thank my stars enough. I remember, when I bought my Getz back in 2010, Diesel was around the same price and I felt a bit .

Just for a comparo, I did a 220 Km drive in my GT this weekend for a mere 500 bucks Diesel !!

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

I did a tankful today morning while coming to office near the Chinchwad station Bharat Petroleum bunk. Normal diesel @ Rs51.35/litre. Just 10 days back when I tanked up from the same bunk, diesel was retailing @ Rs 55.21 to a litre. This is the sharpest drop to the tune of Rs 3.86/-. Since I maintain my car's fuel log I have plotted the diesel prices since the beginning of 2015. It clearly shows that from April to May there was a sharp jump of @ 7 rupees, whereas from June to July, prices have fallen rather rapidly to the tune of 9 rupees.

Can someone please let me know what are the prices @ Shell and Reliance bunks (if any) in Pune?

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

Yesterday late night while returning from Mumbai to Pune vis e way, filled up Diesel at the coco HP pump in the foodmall in Kahalapur.

yes its sub 50/- ..some 49.xx , plus the best Diesel I have seen amongst all govt pumps so far i have used.

negative side of this, my km crunch has increased , sometimes unnecessarily , overall pushing up my monthly fuel bill. But am glad!

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

So diesel users are rejoicing, while petrol users doesn't have much to complain. Among all the hullabaloo people are forgetting that what the old Sardarji painstakingly did to reduce the artificial price barrier between petrol and diesel has been in effect negated. And all the flak he received for making bold decisions, didn't amount to anything at the end. Hence proved that people fall for pennies thrown on the ground, no matter whether they stand for right, left or centrist governments.

I am off to join the diesel bandwagon, at the very next opportunity.

Indeed sad that all the effort taken by Dr.Singh to reduce the irrational price differential between petrol and diesel (using the innovative Rs.0.50 hike in diesel price every month) has been laid waste. So much for all the deregulation crap.
