These days price changes are sometimes announced a day or so later. So let us wait for tonight.

They must be busy calculating the increase in excise after reduction of fuel prices. This way increase in excise can be announced immediately after announcing the new price.

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

Slightly OT, but this is why digesting Odd-Even rule in Delhi becomes even harder to digest.

For every car that you buy, you pay sales tax, registration tax, service tax on insurance and I am sure a couple of more taxes. Than for every liter of fuel you buy, government gets nearly 50% of it as tax. Than for any half decent road that you drive on, you pay toll tax and even than when you need it you cannot take your car out.

Will this result in an increase in the latest price?

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

Finally they have reduced petrol and increased diesel price. Guess the officials were busy due to Valentine's day.

Huge 'relief' to the modifiers: petrol prices cut by 32 paise, and diesel prices increased only by 28 paise!

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

Petrol price cut by Rs 3.02/Litre. That's a good news after a long time
Not a good news for Diesel vehicle owners though. Prices hiked by Rs 1.47/Litre

This is really crazy.
How can the prices move in opposite directions that too by such a large difference.

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

I, for once am happy to see a big fall in petrol prices. I can now get two more liters of petrol for every tankful and that amount is significant! Plus the prices will.drop below the 60 mark and the drop will make a bigger psychological impact!

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

So finally, after making a killing with selling petrol at higher prices, the govt has finally reduced the price. Will wait till tomorrow to tank up.

In India it can move in any direction. Don't worry our lorry drivers will come to rescue. We might see a strike or hike in all commodity prices if there's another hike in diesel price.

On a serious note I feel govt is trying all possible ways in directly to keep the number of diesel vehicles in check. This year budget and add this hike in price.

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

"After the price change, petrol will cost 56.61 a litre in Delhi while diesel will cost 46.43 a litre."

Reducing the difference to 10 rs/-. Though government has been holding this price cut, better be late than be never!!
