My guess is that it will go up today for both the fuels by about a INR 1.5

The attendant mentioned a rise in prices. He concluded this from the amount they filled in their own tanks. Usually it's the standard amount "chalane ke liye" but last evening they filled it up full. So, I filled a full tank too!

Crude prices at almost same level as of 15-May. May be no or only small change ?

Tonight, the prices may increase by 1.5 ₹ for Petrol & 1.2₹ for Diesel, (based on the matket trends during last fortnight..)

What is the trend in the those 5 cities where price is supposed to change daily? Any way to monitor prices there (via a web portal etc.). That should provide us with some clues on the fuel prices for the next fortnight.

Last report that I saw mentioned that it would be close to 2Rs in Hyderabad increase based on prices at Vishakhapatnam. But that was around 4 days ago. Use below site to get price details but accuracy may not be 100%

The effective price hike at our place is 1.58 ₹ for petrol & 1.07 ₹ for diesel.

The additional amount consists of state specific sess, taxes etc.

Totally a non-event. This level was widely expected. Also, daily revisions in some towns give a good clue.

Will the Gst thing be applied to fuel prices as well? Isin't fuel a commodity as well?

The petrol price is at its peak again today after Q3 2014 and with the rate at which the prices are hiking; not long before we all see it making a century.

For now, Fuel and Alcohol has been kept out of the ambit of GST. Major contributors to the state's kitty so they're not going to go for parity that easily.

But eventually, it's on the cards.

This was part of the trade off to get the GST through. I think Fuel may be included after three years or so. As for Ethanol-??? One just cannot say anything here. remember some states have prohibition.

Dynamic pricing to be extended to all cities starting June 16

State-run oil marketing companies (OMCs) have decided to roll out the daily revision of fuel prices nationally from the second fortnight of June.
