Finally, cost of petrol is back to more saner levels, although the feeling it would come down by Rs.10/- made me feel really excited initially.

ha, one more new thread. Should be merged to fuel thread I suppose.

Quote:
Initial implications were that Petrol price may be cut by Rs 10, and Diesel price may be cut by Rs 3. Do you think this cut is OK?
Something is better than nothing

Of course, petrol should be cheaper by Rs.10. The oil per barrel is now in 40s I believe and is expected to reach Rs.25(speculation).

Also, Govt must reduce the prices of LPG and kerosene to help poor people cook food.

We missed by just one day. Our Baleno has indicated capacity of 51 ltrs, but 55-56 goes in easily.
So it was 50 + 10 ( my bike ) ltrs yesterday night at 9 pm.
60 X 5 = 300 Rs. difference.
We missed it by just one day.

EDIT : I think the move has come too late and too less. We can expect around Rs. 10 drop atleast. The government wont come out of its ways to extract the most out of tax payers.

$147 VS $44, thats by how much the price has dropped in the international market, but should we be happy that we will have to pay just Rs 5 less for every litre?

one question....
when the prices were raised last time,
auto guys had increased there fare.
KSRTC buses also upped there prices.(not sure though)
Milk became costly(saying that transportation costs have gone up)
Some state govts reduced the sales tax rates.

Will they be revising all those things also..... i dont think so.... So the so called "Common man" who was really hard hit by all round price rise may actually not benefit!

Nonetheless, I am happy....havent gone for a aimless long drive since last 2 months..will do that now

Regards,

Why? Why? It should have been more. Nepal has lowered it by Rs.25. roughly Rs.15INR

SirAlec, he's merely asking the question - that a mere 5 Rs. cut- is it justified?

I think NO. They should have reduced 10/- on petrol. Maybe Mr. Deora wants to reduce the price is stages. Now 5 bucks then after 2 months another 5 bucks.
