We pay double that.
Here in India we end up pay so much more for everything and yet get the worst quality, worst customer support and service.

Petrol, cars, everything we end up paying so much more for nothing

Re: Fuel Price Thread

It looks like the crude oil prices have peaked about $90 per barrel a couple of days back and started moving downwards. The strategy by these oil companies is to wait till the moment crude prices start going down from a cliff and then jack up the prices. This way, they will get maximum benefit.

Re: Fuel Price Thread

The govt is worried that deregulizing diesel will increase the inflation. So the oil companies have to make up that loss by increasing petrol charge. My dad used to fill petrol at 3 ltrs for 100 rs plus oil..

OT: India should capture iran or iraq. then only the the price will come down.

Re: Fuel Price Thread

Back in 2000 for 100 bucks we could fill 4ltrs, very soon it will be 400bucks. prices will sky rocket but the earnings may not do the same. so many will have to use the same old way use public transport!

Re: Fuel Price Thread

So in this backdrop, Can't the government do something to promote alternative fuels and then possibly cars like the Civic Hybrid and toyota prius will be affordable to the 'aam janta' so to speak
They'll earn a few brownie points after getting negative reviews for deregulating petrol prices

Re: Fuel Price Thread

Well.. Even Shell will be joining in. I asked the supervisor at Lavelle road Shell and he said that from the midnight of the 16th of Dec, Shell will charge around 63.45/ ltr for the regular fuel.
I think its time for me to start filling up from there again, as its a mere difference of I guess 50p or a lil more. But trust me, its very satisfying as we do not have to keep our eyes glued on to the dispenser, or avoid being conned.
