Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

Been to Tirupathi over the weekend, for the first time I saw the price of diesel to be more than Bangalore. I was thinking that the cost of fuel is most expensive across India, but this time the fuel stations across Tirupathi, Chitoor and Palamner we selling diesel at 56.47, but in Bangalore it was 55.47.

That's weird. How come Pune has more expensive fuel than Hyderabad? Filled at Shell? The highest I paid for petrol was Rs.81.xx

120$? Can you please point me to a website that shows the price for the crude our government is buying and keeps quoting the price of ? I thought we buy Brent and that hasn't gone over $112 for the past several months.

On another note, I'm expecting a Rs.4-6/- hike in the price of petrol this month end apart from the Rs.5 that the govt. is planning to increase on diesel. Fill up your tanks before the rush starts and brace yourselves for worse.

It is the Brent oil, and we can check the pricing here: http://www.liveoilprices.co.uk/oil/brent_oil_chart.html

On similar line, saw a flashing news on morning news channels of Rs 3/- hike in diesel prices but this will be effected post the monsoon session of the parliament. With the Crude prices going northwards, this was expected, the amount of hike will decide the protests now.

Aaand, Brent shoots to $117 overnight and rupee is 67/$ in the first half hour of trading. Boy, this is getting better with every passing hour.

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

There was a talk of directly importing Iranian oil by paying Indian rupees. Any idea what happened to this proposal.
US has already exempted India from sanctions which allows India to directly deal with Iran. I think Indian government should fast track this for more stable oil pricing and Forex conservation

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

With the rupee in a free fall and Brent at $115 plus expect at least Rs.5 per litre on both diesel and petrol after the 6th when Parliament adjourns. There is talk of paying for the FSA by removing fuel subsidies. I guess this means Diesel, LPG and the holiest of holies Kerosene, Petrol is already subsidy free.

Same S#!7, Different Day - Price of Petrol hiked by Rs. 2.35, Diesel by 50 Paise

Next round of elections can't get here sooner. The current batch of monkeys have run this already godforsaken country into the ground.

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

Well at the risk of sounding rude, I have to say that I am really relieved that they didn't increase the Diesel prices by Rs 3-5 that was being reported everywhere. The govt is already facing so much heat. It was illogical to expect them to hike the diesel prices by a huge margin. My condolences to all the Petrol-heads on the forum.

wow, just have a look at the price hikes. I am wondering what went wrong. and where. Maybe the answer is 'the congress'.

have a look at the hikes, alarming, scary, questionable, debatable. Anything but reasonable.

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

Soon petrol heads may buy a car from their own money but would require a loan for buying petrol for it.
I know that a political discussion is last thing we would want to indulge in, but as a citizen I feel that current Govt. has no competency and it simply cannot justify its rule over the country.
