The less we tlak about the Ponzi Govt. in Jharkhand the better. We have had the absolute worst when it comes to governance and hit the nadir a long time back.

Watch out for increase in Road Tax, which is among the lowest in the country. As far as fuel pricing goes - almost every bunk in JH is adulterated and the increase in VAT makes it even worse.

I wonder the defination of democracy is even relevant anymore in JH. It is a demono-cracy : Govt by demons, for demons and of the demons

So every one USD decrease in crude price, the country’s import bill decreases by around Rs. 8,578 crore

Petrol hiked ₹3.18 and Diesel ₹3.09 per litre (I guess these are Delhi hikes).

I have started laughing these days with such revisions in fuel prices. Frustrated but laughing at the same time. Price cuts are always small and far between but hikes are always significant.

And this has lead to long lines at Delhi petrol pumps.

I really wanted to get Diesel today as I needed to travel early tomorrow morning. Thanks to the ling queues. I will get fuel tomorrow only at higher price.

Can't understand how much people would be saving. Or how long that fuel at reduced cost would last.

Just my 2 bits

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

It doesn't look like a only-for-Delhi hike, must be pan-India.
Sick and tired of the excuse of rising crude price. When it falls they keep telling - we bought the inventory at higher prices, so no price reduction.
But when it goes up, nobody comes out and tells - we bought the inventory at lower prices, so no price hike.

The price hike is pan-India and it is a disappointment. Considering this is the second increase in the past 15 days.

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

First a poor budget for us middle class or as they say, cattle class and now this fuel price hike, if anything was left. If the revised service tax of 14.28% was not enough to increase your expenses, here comes a hike of Rs. 3.18 on petrol and Rs. 3.09 on diesel.

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

The new budget, brought a sudden increase in Fuel prices. Keeping in mind, the slash in Petrol price, I ventured to buy a petrol car. Deregulation of prices seemed as a boon, but with the current budget in effect, things are starting to seem the other way around.

I meant the figures were Delhi figures, of course the hike is pan india. Let us accept that prices went up from $50 or so to $62 in a very short time. Also, the Bank of England expects a medium term price of $70, so maybe another ₹2-3. Also, the bleats about under-recovery are more or less silenced.

Did read somewhere that the Road Cess is up by/to ₹8 which is being absorbed by the state (Excise!).

I'm quite surprised to see that none of the opposition parties are making any noise after this hike. Considering the fact that the govt. increased the excise duty by a handsome amount. Looks like the so called 'buffer' is a myth and the duty will not be rolled back, at least not before the next election.

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

Now ATF hiked by 8%. Only Yechuri was protesting. What is interesting is that motorists at pumps were giving the old arguments about hardship in making ends meet. Where were they when prices dropped by ₹10 plus.

If Kuwait is correct and Crude does stabilise in the $50-60 range, then we should all rejoice

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

Brent prices dropped down to 54 level but there has been no reduction in retail price this 15th. It seems fuel retailers can do whatever they want, no accountability

Only way out it seems is for someone (maybe T-BHP can take it up) to file a complaint with the CCI and/or PIL after getting the data through RTI.
