In case of petrol, yes it still hovers around 3Rs difference. The last price tag that I saw in Salem was around Rs56 compared to Rs 59 in bangalore. With the increase in taxation in KA budget, this difference is bound to go up.

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

Another rare day. Why, again Nymex higher than Brent. Maybe by a few cents but this morning again it happened.

Recently on my trip to Coimbatore, the petrol price in the city was 58.82 while in the area i stay in Bangalore, it is 61.45.
From April 1st onwards, petrol and diesel prices will go up only in Karnataka so the price difference betwween KA and TN will widen further.

This explains the reason for the heavy rush at one of the fuel station at Bangalore this night.

And the Crude Price is still hovering around $ 38/- per barrel and the Rupee has strengthened by Re. 1/-. I hope the additional taxes are going into improving the infrastructure as declared by the Govt.

Goa prices have gone up from 1st April due to increase in Taxes.

The place where i stay in Bangalore has a BP bunk. As of Sunday (April 3rd), the petrol price was Rs 63.92 / litre . This includes the recent hike in KA alone.

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

Adding to the fuel price increase, I just heard over the radio that there is a strike/out of stock situation at some Bangalore pumps.

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

Why the increase. 2.19 and 0.98 in Delhi? With Crude limping southwards along with the $ I am foxed. Of course we will get the old story about International Price Parity from the OMCs. I suspect they are trying to build up reserves to set up Euro-VI refineries.

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

This is really frustrating. While the crude oil price has not cross $40 and is going to remain same for few quarters as per predictions by oil companies, the petrol and diesel price in India is increasing every fortnight without any solid reason. Hits common man hard !

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

Excellent analysis of fuel prices in India and why government is treating fuels as cash cow.
