What i think is - the US has successfully managed to create a case for dollar weakening with ultra-low interest rates,etc. My guess is this has logically been followed up by asset price inflation, being followed up by product price inflation(now) and will be followed by wage inflation(which is about the time when we get crucified).

I have heard Crude will touch $155 very soon and Indian government told in the press release saying untill october there won't be any fuel hike. Hope they keep their word and don't pass the increase to public.

Y'day it has touched $147.30. $155 is not far ahead. I think it will easily touch this figure in next week's trading session (Mon-Fri). IMO, Govt cannot afford to rise the fuel price as of now since the inflation is very high 11.89% as of y'day (highest since 1995). If they do something like this, then all the products including vegetables and fruits will start going up further (already gone up at present) and being election year, they cannot do this. Already SP, behind the neck of PC and anything of this sort happens, the govt is certain to loose some of the support fom its key allies.

There was a rule from Gujarat High court that the pumps are supposed to have both the fuel and let the customer choose which one he wants. But the pump owners found a new method to bypass this rule.

The pump owners would say that " Normal petrol is now over ( sold out ). Now we will have normal fuel tomorrow ".

Look, if the oil company really adds what is worth of Rs.2 - 3 extra they charge, why do they insist on selling premium fuel only?

I just received a mail today stating that 14th July all vehicle owners must boycott the purchase of fuel because of the rising prices of fuel as well as a protest against the unlawful techniques used by the pump owners and the oil companies. I don't know how far would this be successfull but just thought of passing on the message to fellow bhpians. BTW I just came to know prices of fuel in Pakistan is Rs.17!!! And we are paying close to Rs.57 here

I just filled in my tank this morning and AFAIK, I have not read/received any kind of mails like this as of now. This must be true for some selected city and not to the whole country.

I do not know much about this because i just got a random mail so i just thought i'l put it up here. As far as the prices go it was in the mail itself.

I guess this is just for transportation. If you include diesel used in India for transportation or for generators then it would not be that lopsided.

Boys.....No diesel in Bangalore.

Yesterday i filled in at Shell by paying Rs.66.95/- The normal diesel is Rs. 39.85/-
