Very hard hitting and well said. Your point about getting what you wanted is very important. It is not just with Fiat. I read somewhere else in this or another forum that someone was not happy about his Optra giving low fuel economy. I mean, if you buy a 1.8 litre car, what else do you expect?

And regarding the dictionary definition of overhyped and over-rated, I can only laugh. Because after reading your post I realized that it is ages since I saw a Fiat ad anywhere.

I guess, enough is said about Fiat cars and if they are overrated/overhyped or whatever meaning to that effect. So, why dont we just close this thread, before it turns into ugly "my-Fiat-does-this" kind of bragging, or "accent-is-sooo-crap" kind of hate talk?

I have known plenty of Fiat 118Ne and Fiat padmini guys running their cars for 20 years without HITCH.
ALL SPARES ARE AVAILALE.

This is simply the case of a better car.
it is horses for the courses. fine. Accent is a nice car.
But there we have some cars like Fiat which are so damn good.
this is not bragging about anything.
this is the case of sharing our experiences.
Incidentally, I bought Fusion+ too last week.
Just love it

I know. Spares are not a problem and won't be too. But there is justification in the criticism levelled at Fiat. They make good cars. But seriously they need to address their image (or lack of it). It is criminal to not do well despite having really good products.

I know, it is a better car and I own Petra 1.6. But, we have said it all in earlier posts. Now, if someone refuses to accept it, there will be no end to the discussion. So better close down this thread.

Ok, i'm a guy who doesn't fancy the Petra or the Accent. But between the 2, the Petra is the better car.

As far as ownership experiences go, that is left to the owners to decide.

Cars like the Accent, Baleno and the Lancer are all outdated, they would have been good competition for cars like the OHC but, todays cars are far more complete.

There's no point, comparing them to the new generation of cars. They've lived their life and it's high time they stepped down.

Infact that is the issue Steroid was trying to bring up. As per him most of the people in this forum support/overrate/hype Petra/Palio.

The answer is obvious. Whether it is hyped or over rated or under whatever... I love my fiats - the GTX, uno and the premier padmini.

Once a fiat guy always a fiat guy.

Started driving a fiat premier padmini when i was hardly 6. The biggest crush of my life... still lives on. Irrespective of what the dealers here have to offer i will continue buying a fiat if it has the same charecter as the Palio!
