The SX4 hatch is a very good looking car, IMO as if a small SUV in disguise. Chances of the same getting launched in India??and its petrol and diesel variants?

Actually it very much is a 'small SUV' as you say. They call them Crossovers.
The X in SX4 stands for X(cross)-over. In fact the international SX4 comes with AWD as well, which further strengthens where its roots lie.

SX4 already has a ground clearance greater than Scorpio.
Now if it comes with a decent diesel.
that too if a ~122bhp 1.9 litter it will be around optra magnum.cheers:

I'll say give an option of 4*4 it will be nothing less, if not mare then any SUV on Indian roads.

Although the SX4 4x4 sounds like a great idea, I think Maruti still has to get over the sales nightmare of the Baleno station wagon (Altura was the name I think). They priced the vehicle into instant classic status, rare sighting nowadays.

My colleague had been to the MSIL Factory yesterday and they said a 1.5 Ltr Diesel SX4 can be expected only after 3 years. Sign. Hope this is not true, none the less it came from DGM production, I guess we will have to wait and watch.

Fiat Sedici launched with 1.9 MultiJet Diesel. When is it going to make it here?

Guys,

The Czech have just received the 1.9 Multi Jet Diesel for their Sedicis. When is our SX4 going to carry it? You can read it here: Translated version of http://magazin.auto.cz/testy/fiat-sedici-1-9-multijet-4x4-madarsky-gulas.html

C'mon Suzuki, bring it on....please. At least do a soft-launch just like the smart alec of the industry. You can start selling it whenever you want.

2008 Suzuki SX4 DDIS

Check the news about a Suzuki SX4 DDIS, in Canada. It has a 1.6 litre turbodiesel engine.

If Maruti plans on using the 90 bHp MJD with VGT engine for their Diesel SX4 then I feel they should change the punch line for their advertisement to Boys are Back instead of Men are Back. FIAT’s 90 bHp MJD with VGT engine will struggle to pull 1200 kgs (unladen weight) of the SX4

Even if they launch one may not get immediately after booking. In Tamilnadu, you may never get on Dzire after booking, only refunds. Looks like Maruthi is suffering with Dzire and Swift diesels already with lack of productions. This will the the case with SX4 diesel too. :-(

Are any current diesel cars sold here in India that have a particulate filter?

Any idea from the xperts when the SX4 diesel will hit the showrooms?.
I'm eagerly looking forward to get one when it launches.
Hope they don't make us suffer with 3-4 months waiting period.
