i have been listening for a long time of the sx4 diesel coming around,,but there has been just no development.i think maruti has lost way with the honda anhc and linea being bomb of cars.the only hope for maruti can be the 1.9 d.if the bring the car with 1.5 d it is going to be a poor show

AFAIK there is no 1.5L DDIS or MJD engine. It is either 1.3L, 1.6L, 1.9L, 2L,2.2L, 2.3L, 2.4L, 2.8L and 3.0L.

What i feel that, Maruti will launch SX4 with the same engine of Swift / Dzire / Paio / Linea / Vista...
the one & only 1.3 multijet

I was there at a Maruti showroom last weekend as my b-i-l was accepting the delivery of his WagonR. I checked with the salesperson over there about SX4 diesel. He told me that there are no plans of that as of now.

the 1.3 ddis on the linea and the 1.3 on the swift are the same,,but the linea one is just more tweaked to extract more power.

I second that. Whatever be the engine option, the wait for the SX4 diesel would be surely a good three months. Dont know why they cant sort that issue out.

Maruti really can't have a better answer to the ANHC / Linea than a diesel SX4! Wonder what's taking them too long. The only restriction I see is the supply of diesel engines.

The said restriction is also a bit normalized a bit as lots of orders canceled due to ongoing recession. Waiting period for DDiS Dezire/Swift ain't that much as earlier it was.

For sure SX4 DDiS will be an perfect answer for ANHC/Linea and even Crazy Verna

When there is a Dzire DDiS, why would Maruti even look at releasing a SX4 diesel. The 1.3 MJD will have to be tuned to extract more Bhp since the SX4 is a beast. I doubt if the current engine is going to be offered in the SX4. Then again, the 1.3MJD has a lot pf potential, I am sure Maruti can figure it out in time, so they will have a level playing field with other brands.

SX4 should come with a automatic and a diesel variant. if they use the 1.3MJD then the pricing will be too good.. 7-8L a diesel and automatic..it will be good for the city traffic
the cheapest sedan with auto option is the verna or the ANHC which is 10+
