Hands-on "under the hood" experience needed pls help!

Hi guys,
i live in bangalore and am currently pursuing mechanical engineering.My course is really dull and i really want to get some hands on experience on ' under the hood' aspects of cars. it would be great if someone could let me know if there is any such place in bangalore where students can get this kind of exposure, i know of a place in coimbatore, called G D Naidu's, but the problem is i am currently working on a project and cannot leave bangalore, also have some attendance issues in college. so please , if anyone can provide me some information on this i will be really greatful.
