Thanks JRD for the information, but the website was up and running a day before your post where all the info was already available.

The website was down for a shortwhile after that then it was up again.

That's a neat looking car. The OHC was a nice car, decent performance AND nice looks. What went wrong with the NHC, only Honda can tell. I personally thought the NHC was / is ugly. I am now quite happy to see the latest avtaar of the City.

This car seems to have gained some lost ground. From what one can tell from the pictures & the website. I think the verdict will come after seeing it in the flesh & after driving it a bit !!

Good package Honda !! Reclaim all the fans you lost !!!

Cheers

The G3 Honda City has created so much excitement. Its evident from the fact that since last evening, there has been as much as 4-5 pages of posts hailing all the good things about Honda.

Pricing, superbly done Honda, Hats off!

The downside is the lack of good alloys and nice footwear. 175 section is not very healthy for the G3 City with so much power at disposal. Thats the only cost-cutting measure I think Honda has made here.

So, one would have to plonk a good 40-50k for a nice set of wheels and tyres beyond the OTR price. However, a sizeable lot will live with the OE tyres and wheels till the need for a replacement.

Overall, fantastic work Honda!

Wider tyres would also have meant a drop in FE, even if very marginal. I think 175 was provided keeping in mind that the car should churn out max FE possible, the major USP of the NHC. Honda would like ANHC to enjoy the same reputation.

The leaner tyre only makes me think that it does not have the low end torque. This is even more supported by the max torque of some 140Nm that too at 4000rpm. Not sure of the torque curve, but I have a doubt if it is flat enough in the lower rpm.

Rear Styling?

Went through most of the sequence of replies and comments on this thread and indeed it seems that Honda has yet another winner on its hands. While everyone is going gaga over the great new engine, the styling et al, I personally think that the rear three quarter styling in not upto the mark.

The attached image (taken from the Honda India website) actually reminds me of the glasshouse of the NHC and the taillamps look like a lift from the 3 series BMW. Also the boot lip (which is perhaps designed to work as a spoiler) is too pronounced.

Just that to me this seems like a design that wouldnt age too well. Maybe just nitpicking on my part, but would like to know other people's inputs.

Darn, called Deccan Honda in Pune and the bugger told me that waiting period is a minimum of 3 - 4 months, told him don't use this ploy to sell your old stock and he states that they haven't even received the demo vehicle and that itself will come in a months time. Jeez...this is crazy, Honda makes us all salivate for the new vehicle, what if we lose out thirst somewhere along the way. I pray FIAT has some sense and launches the Linea fast with a good sticker price.
