Hail HONDA. i salute honda for showing great leadership in thought process. to offer safety features across all variants brings safety to the fore-front. come think of it, a year before none of the city ZX variants had any airbags / ABS. now ANHC/G3HC all variants have it. this might change how other car companies start think about safety features. great pricing from honda too. kudos to honda once again. it might fry the competition. wait to have a TD.

Honda done it again. With safety features (airbags, abs, computer break assistance) 1 lakh price increase is 100% justifiable.

I am already thinking about selling my NHC and buying new honda city again. I owned Honda city before NHC.

Good to see that Safety is not compromised at all even in entry models. That is is biggest positive I see. Ride comfort was always good and with this pricing this will redine the C segment along with its other features. However credit should be given to Maruti for redfining the features in C segment with SX4 which incidently will be the most affected with this.

Looks beautiful, a real elegant looking C segment car after a long time in India.
On a minor flip side, couldn't digest the front grill though, looks very plasticky (and as if its trying to grin).

Dear TBHP members,
regarding the "new thread for the city details that people already know about"

there were 2 main things missing in the existing thread because of which i had posted the details.
1)Exact pricing on all 3 models (including the cheaper "E" version that was speculated to come in Jan09)
2) Details of the colors that will be available (@ faithless 84- yes black is available)
Just wanted to clarify that i had some correct info not mentioned previously on this thread.

Many apologies for sharing some news on a PUBLIC FORUM. (@ car_crazy1400, ajmat)

FYI: New city site has just been uploaded, any one is free to verify the color and pricing details i provided.

Thanks
JRD.

The new City is an excellent package, we even got steering mounted Audio controls, except for 1 glitch, I wonder why Honda didn't throw in Automatic Climate Control. That sucks.
The pricing was awesome and I'm sure it will put pressure on FIAT to price the Linea well. Guess we only have to wait and see how FIAT prices the Linea, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they have as much common sense as Honda.

Is there any reviews on the low end torque of this car? Any feedback from Thailand? A little bit worried about the low end torque. Otherwise, this seems to be a sure bet. Hopefully it will be available for test drives soon.

A very interesting launch indeed. I hope the mileage is good as well, because if its the same engine size with far greater power like that of the NHC-ZX Vtec, the mileage will be interesting to watch. the other thing to keep an eye on will be handling. If they move anywhere close to the OHC, it will be great. The chances of this is higher, because the website shows that they have reduced the height of the car, which hopefully with reduce the CG and make it a lot more driveable. IF these two are also favourable, it is going to be an excellent launch.

Pricing still needs to be consciously brought down in the new inflation hit economy.
