NANO to roll out from Gujarat. EDIT : Rolling now. Expect quick deliveries

NDTV NEWS:
NDTV.com: Finally, Nano to be rolled out from Gujarat

So hopefully this will go fine, unlike the Bengal saga.
Good Luck Tata Motors, and hopefully GJ admin has done the homework beforehand.
Another oppurtunity for Gujarat to underline its status as favorable investment destination

Ummm... the link says "Nano en route to Gujarat?"
Seems you missed the "?" at the end.
Please take a closer look at the article before posting.
Suggest mods to change the title and put a "?" in the title as well.

I got an SMS yesterday saying it was decided that Nano will roll out from Sanand, Guj. Apparently there were no news channel publishing the same. Today's A'bad paper says Tata's MD will be meeting with Mr. Narendra Modi to decide on the formalities. I think the answer to the big question will come out this week latest. Hope it goes in our favor

KA is also in race and CM is meeting Ratan tata later this week. Anyways, we will have Nano either from GJ or KA. We can be rest assured that there won't be a situation like singur like incidents unless Medha Patkar has other plans. Unfortunately, every state has someone like MB...

It is not official yet. May be the chennels are speculating as of now. Hope things get finalized soon. So many people including competitors are waiting for the NANO.

AP is out of the race? I read somewhere they were also willing to cover the relocation costs for the plant!

Gujarat govt is handling it in much better manner then WB.

1. No farmers will be affected
2. Land if owned by a state faring agency

No state is NOT going to play "real estate agent" here

Yeah...during the visit of tata officials, there were agitations from the farmers, some 100 of them (I read this in TOI, y'day). Hence IMO, AP might be out of race. Moreover, there are not many auto ancillary industries in and around AP/Hyderabad.

its not yet over.
please read the article completely.

it says that if conformed they can had over the land on tuesday thats 7th october 2008.

i strongly feel either gujrath or karnataka are the front runners for this site. which it should have been two yrs ago.

TM must be saying better late than never.

All the best to tata motors.
Whichever state receives this valuable project, will progress

Land in question in GJ in under Gujarat Agricultural university for the last several decades.Hence it belongs to Govt, not by any farmer. Hence no question of displacement, land acquistion and lower compensation etc etc spoiling the party.

I think this is the main reason why GJ was chosen. Land is readily available without any litigation. TATA can start the work immediately.

In all other probable places like KA and AP land has to be acquired

So finally it became official. Good to hear that TATA was finally able to make it INSIDE India itself
Now its time for the wait to get the car on road.
