The two-tone Safari being shown in the new Ad is now beginning to make sense......can't figure why they stinged on the Airbags though.

- Small Exterior changes are in-line as well.

He wasn't sure about introduction of 4x4 in the said version.
Hey Ashish, just saw your post, you were more or less spot on! Your Tata source is definitely reliable, you must ask him about the 2010 Safari!

Tata Motors launches new Safari GX variant

Tata Motors has expanded its Safari DICOR 2.2 range with the addition of a new Gx variant. The current Safari DICOR range comprises three variants: Lx, Ex and Vx. The Gx, with several high end comfort and safety features, has been positioned below Vx, the top end variant. The new variant offers enhanced value to the Safari customer at an attractive price point below the top end variant.

Safari Gx has been offered with dual tone exteriors in select shades, a first for the Safari range. Interiors of the Safari Gx sport a unique leather cum fabric upholstery. Two sought after features of Vx have been offered on the Gx: reverse guide system to aid the driver while reversing and ABS with EBD. Safari was the first vehicle in the country to offer the Reverse Guide System using a camera in the rear bumper and the Internal Rearview Mirror as the Screen. Another new feature is indicators on the Outer Rear View Mirrors. This feature will be extended to other variants of Safari also. Alloy wheels are standard on the Gx on both 4x2 and 4x4 versions

Safari Gx has been launched at a price of Rs. 9.95 lakhs (ex showroom Delhi) for the 4x2 version and 10.87 lakhs (ex showroom Delhi) for the 4x4 version. The price of the Safari DICOR range starts at Rs.7.67 lakhs (ex showroom Delhi)

The Safari DICOR is one of the largest selling SUVs in the country with sales of over 11000 vehicles during April – January 2008-09. The Safari range presently includes the 2.2L Diesel DICOR , 2.1 L MPFI Petrol and a 2.0L TCIC version. It is a popular choice as an armoured vehicle amongst the security forces.

Finally!

Although the exclusion of the airbag is bad, it is not very bad. With a ABS and a 4x4, I would be happy to go for one. All I need to do is to take care to buckle up.

So now we know which vehicle was there in the new advt... with the RVM sporting the indicator.

Good move TATA! Now, iron out the freaking quality issues that you guys have!!!

I also hope that there is automatic climate control provided. I feel that this is a must for any vehicle... especially more so in such a comfortable one as the safari. What do you feel guys....???

This is 1 lakh more than EX 4x4. And the main benefit is ABS with EBD? (All the others mentioned don't sound costly).

Looks like Tata's lack of QA is there in its web/IT team as well. Click on
http://www.safaridicor.com/variants/variants.asp

Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0126'
Include file not found
/variants/variants.asp, line 17
The include file '../include/leftnav.asp' was not found.

Guess someone forgot to migrate leftnav.asp. You would hope that the developer would atleast check the website before heading home on Friday night. Guess this will be fixed when they are back in on Monday morning.
