Hey SID,

Great pictures. Thanks man. The pictures seem to indicate that car is bigger than Altis and Civic. It doesnt resemble SX4. The stance is wider and lower unlike the SuVish SX4. The interiors look good. Critical to its success is going to be good petrol and diesel engine options and a price below Civic/Altis

Wasn't there a report in some auto mag in which a Kizashi was spotted testing at the Nurburgring? They were suggesting it had a 3.0L V6 in that. I think Kizashi is more likely to take on the Accords & Camrys rather than Civics and Corollas. Though it will be most certainly be cheaper than those two.

this one looks like a Pontiac G6 to me

Suzuki is doing what Hyundai did some years ago.. that is to build a car on par with Toyota and Honda but price it lower than that..

Dont know about the world mrakets, but if this one is made in India and priced accordingly. it may have an advantage and woudl particuarly sell well considering the sales and service network of Maruti in the country.

imo the back looks decent,But from the front it looks bland and ugly.
No where close to the sharp dimensions of the concept vehicle.
I dont think it can compete either with the camry or the accord. The only thing it will do is give a decent alternative to the sonata.

Cutting down the beauty and boldness of concept cars just for cost-cutting, is a big factor in making many of the cars less-inspiring. In the case of Suzuki, A-Star and most probably Kizashi, are good examples.

Looks big and nice bit plain though. More of understated executive look.

If they plonk a nice engine (1.9 DDiS ??) can easily sell decent volumes in India, and give the other D segmenters (Altis, civic & Laura) a run for their money.

Goddammit same headlights everywhere, swift, sx4, ritz, Kizashi

Maruti Suzuki needs to realize that beyond a certain price people expect quality interiors and overall fit and finish needs to be good. One reason why GV is fail.

~12L OTR with interiors to match the segment and I see this doing volumes.

Dayum! Those exhausts look classy.

The rear isn't cohesive with the rest of the car though IMHO

The interiors from the unclear shot look pretty slick!

not sure if it is just me but

1. Honey comb grill seems like Nissanish
2. Front end cues are VWish
3. Rear end similar to US version of 2dr Civic, Saturn and a few others

After checking out the "Kizashi" concept in person at the New Delhi Auto Show, the street version is a big letdown. But then, so was the A-Star. This is another bland corporate sedan that will find no buyers like every other large sedan from Suzuki. And, they never learn , it seems.

The Kizashi will definitely be launched in India, a Maruti spokesperson has confirmed this. Whether it will be a CKD/CBU or locally manufactured is yet to be known. If Maruti wants to undercut the big players, it needs to take the Kizashi seriously and localize as much as possible. We can expect to see a model displayed at the Auto Expo next year.

In Frankfurt Show (September) we can get a glimpse of the Kizashi production model. Prices and power output of the engine have not been divulged in the primary press release, so those details could be revealed right there.

AFAIK Kizashi will be released very late in India. It should bring up SX4-diesel first with 1.6L,then a diesel variant of G-Vitara with 1.9L followed by Kizashi.
