Any idea on the ex-showroom price of the petrol variant?
What additional features does the new petrol variant come equipped with, compared to the existing petrol one?

in the pic taken at the service bay, to me the car looks overly raised - similar to the current palio 1.6 / indica.

Per an insider info, fiesta is shortly going to come out with the 1.6 TDCI (1st half of 09). ford is currently testing two versions of this engine- 90 bhp and 100 (ish) bhp. they are still to finally decide on the most appropriate state of tune for the Indian market. torque will be in the region of 200 nm.

thi sengine will power the fiesta SXI shortly, with the 1.4 remaining for taxi and fleet operators....but all this is fluid as of date.

5.19 ex showroom is quite competitive. But Ford should have been more agressive by launching base diesel and another version with Airbags , ABS to seriously compete with Dzire. Anyways quite satisfied with diesel pricing.

excellent pricing !! Ford India has already updated its website for ford ikon.
Ford Ikon - Ikon Home
Diesel Ikon has features comparative to swift dzire vdi and in terms of pricing it is almost 80,000 cheaper then vdi.
Good job ford extremely competitive.

5.19 is an amazing price. With long waitings for swift dezires, indigos with outdated engines, logans with boxy looks, this sure is a winner and with such a killer pricing and one of the best engines on offer ford more or less manages to overcome the obstacle of a '10 year old design'..cheers:

Thats a rocking price for the car. They have the car right on target. We do not have any cars with diesel option in that range. Not sure of indigo, but still considering a three box sedan people will be more interested in Ikon than indigo.

cheers Ford, but do consider its middle class peolpe who buy the car at that price, dont offer the car at a lower price and squeeze them with yur service charges

Thanks for posting the price. Good pricing, so unlike ford

OT: 1 L diff between the Ex-Showroom and On-Road price in KA?? Is it similar to other states or just too steep in KA alone? We have always bought Used cars so I am not aware of this.
