IMO, present fiesta has got the style and great look.
The new one looks are like japanese or chinese.
I think Ford may continue with present style in Indian market, may be with changes in engine and other set up (more cabin upgradation)

No, Ford's MD has officially revealed the lineup of future cars that are India bound and the new fiesta is indeed coming in Dec 2010. Nov issue of Autocar mag carries the interview and the lineup of cars.

But i do agree on your style department - the current fiesta is cool with its understated European styling. Give it a 110BHP engine and Climate control + good A.S.S (heard ford has improved well in this department), these babies will sell well.

Is it sure that Ford will bring this car to India? Becuase the current Indian Fiesta is not a global model as is the Ford Ikon. Ikon is based on the Global Fiesta Mark IV. The sedan in the picture is based on (or is) the Mark VI Global Fiesta with a boot integrated. The strategy of Ford in India has been different, providing (heavily) modified versions of their global cars in India.

You might want to get hold of a copy of Nov 09 issue of Autocar. Its lists 40 new 2010 launches (some like manza and forturner already in). It quotes new fiesta (codename B299) coming with a 1.6L petrol (118bhp) and a 1.6L diesel (90bhp). Additionally it carries an article on Future of Ford in India with Allan Mullay - CEO Ford motor company - hinting on the cars to be spun off from the B platform.

Another point is that the current fiesta is not a global platform (it was never available in the US). It was specially modified for India by the Oz team. On the contrary the new fiesta is a global car and has a hatch and sedan from the same platform and is also entering US market in 2011. If they plonk the new petrol engine in the current fiesta to meet BS4 i will get one - i like the current styling.

You are right, it will be launched in US as Fiesta 2011 as mentioned in this site - The 2011 Ford Fiesta - Coming Stateside Early 2010 | The official site of the Ford Fiesta | FordVehicles.com

Its an awesome sedan, is bigger than current one, I guess it will be priced in Honda City range when its launched here.

Anyway it looks more modern, edgier and tauter. Liked the styling. Hope Ford will not compromise in handling and the driving feel the current Fiesta offers.

The styling is quite good with clean muscular lines. I think the boot integration is also well done. Wheels look a tad tiny though. If priced right this could be a successful car in India. Would love to see these on Indian roads.

The appearance is more refreshing. The body lines are very neatly drawn. doesn't seems to be like a conversion from hatch to sedan.
Pls launch it very soon.

The car must be around 8-10 lakhs against G3HC with Ford's VVT enabled petrol and diesels from Peugeot or their own but must be capable.
1.6 ltr diesel would be great.
I think especially the boot is beautiful - Linea like plus 'Kinetic' design lines. Looks are subjective. Matter of taste.

Still can't digest it.Only if they do something about the nose, hate the kinetic design philosophy headlights.
The rear looks like a squashed up mondeo, but still palatable.
But,just like the interiors. The newer model Fords(int'nl ones) interiors are just cool.
Think this will be priced 8-10 lacs, competing with the ANHC,vento etc.
While the existing Fiest would be placed lower, replacing the Ikon
hmmm... Dreamin' about the present Fiesta with the 1.6 Duratorq for 6 lacs

I can't help but notice that the side profile looks almost identical to the FIAT linea, the ORVMs and also the alloy design feel like a bolt on attempt to make an otherwise bold design look classy, which creates utter confusion.

The Hatchback looks killer.

I see this car daily in my appartment parking lot. Looks stunning in floroscent green. It's not as spacious as manza but will sure rock in the indian market.
