source:2010 Ford Fiesta Sedan: First Official Photos - Carscoop

These are the first official pictures of the all-new Ford Fiesta sedan that made its global premiere today at China's Guangzhou Auto Show. The four-door Fiesta sedan is essentially the production version of the Verve Concept that was introduced at the same show in 2007 and according to Ford, it will be built at the company's new manufacturing facility in Nanjing with sales in China scheduled to begin in early 2009.

FoMoCo said that additional variations of the Fiesta sedan will be available across Asia and North America starting from 2010 with production coming from the company's plants in Thailand and Mexico respectively. The four-sedan will not be sold in Europe.

Ford would like us to believe that the Fiesta Sedan retains the 'emotional appeal' of its five-door sibling and that it features a "new interpretation of the firm's kinetic design language". We find it a bit hard to agree on either - unless emotional means disturbing and kinetic translates to a shape that was conceived by inserting a large vacuum-cleaner behind a Fiesta hatch.

"We set out to design a truly exciting, desirable small car that exceeds all expectations. Today, we are keeping our promise that was made with the Verve Concept notchback last year," said Chelsia Lau, chief designer of China/ASEAN Programs, Ford Motor Company.

"Launching the all-new Fiesta sedan to the world in China signals the importance of China and the Asian region in Ford's global strategy, " said John Parker, executive vice president, Asia Pacific and Africa, Ford Motor Company. "This is a sophisticated small car. Design combines with advanced technology to deliver very high levels of refinement, safety and class-leading fuel efficiency. This new Fiesta proves Ford's leadership in small car design and development. "

Ford has yet to reveal any technical details on the Fiesta sedan, but expect to see the same powertrain options as with the hatchback version.

Looks good but not good enough. Car looks undertyred due to its visual bulk. But it still might find a lot of buyers in India if priced correctly.

It looks a lot like Mondeo from rear. Could this one atleast get the 1.6 TDCI for India???

Verve hatcback looks great but this sedan version looks ugly. The boot section is not well integrated, looks as an after market add on. The car does look muscular though. Looks like the seating is higher too like in the SX4. Another man to take on the SX4 .

Suddenly it looks horrible in the production ready version! I didnt like the boot integration on this! And those wheels, they look tiny!

Nice scoop. From the pictures, if fell the group clearance is morethan the existing model. The ORVM's looks to be inspired by Honda City ORVMs.

Styling is indeed very muscular.

In the first picture i thought it is Linea. The gap on the front bonnet(near logo) is looking like the old Ford Escort car design. Overall it is not a better design.

The Pulsar of the cars or may be they could even borrow the 'Men are back' punch from SX4!

This reminds me of the SRV from Chevy.

But I do like the car design.

I dont like the rear end and specially the boot. Poor integration.
Otherwise the car is looking good.
The car must be around 8-10 lakhs against G3HC with Ford's VVT enabled petrol and diesels from Peugeot or their own but must be capable.
1.6 ltr diesel would be great.

When I took a second look, I felt it has some Verna curves as well.

Yuck- I wouldn't want this Ford!

Sorry but it is a bad design from ford's portfolio. If you notice closely:

THE FRONT
has Innova's head lights cornered into an i10 cone. The grill is a mock of an i10. The front is large and bulky and the front lights are not in line with the tail lamps.

THE BACK
as the 2008 Mondeo's tail lamps and a mix of Dzirish look as far as size is concerned. Tch Tch...

Thought it woul be like that Casio Royale Bond car Ford. (i think mondeo) that was superb compared to this ghastarfly fusion. Yet it seems to pass off ok... Hmm Ford could have done way better.

He he he! This is really funny. Just out the gym! Muscular all the way. Some dents all round from the Bangalore traffic would add more muscle/cuts ;-)
