Somesh,

Which specific vehicle of Maruti would you compare with the Palio?

Palio has been usually compared to the Swift! Is it ok to compare the Swift parts price here!?

Lets wait for few more weeks to do this comparison when the Linea would be there! And this is not a Linea/GP parts discussion thread.

That's great news from FIAT. Would love to see retro Palio spare part prices. As many people will compare with long term maintenance, how about the spare part prices of of retro palio (accident repairs). Fiat Palio Stile 1.6 sports shares engine and other components with retro palio 1.6 sports.

A week back I bought the rear view mirror of my pre-Stile Palio for Rs.1450 including all taxes. This purchase wasn't done from a Tata-Fiat authorised service center.

Great NewZ! Can we expect prices for Palio Retro (GTX) reduced as well. Throttle Body for instance!

This is a very positive sign for prospective palio buyers. This should take away the concern of availability and cost of spares for the Palio.

Prices of Spares

I test drove the Linea Multijet yesterday, found the drive good but needed a little more powerful engine.
Was shocked when the salesman told me that the spares are cheap, Front bumper - Rs.2500+painting and each headlight Rs.4500

He also said the filter prices have also been reduced as compared to that of the Palio.

So i guess FIAT has their maths right this time.

The Palio Stile bumper is Rs 7000-8000 + Painting. Now that's SHOCK PRICING for spares, too.

I did not pay this much in Jul'08 at least for my Palio 1.2. It was around 5000. I am not sure about the exact amount. Fiat has reduced spare prices recently.

From Oct'2008, prices for Palio Stile 1.1, 1.3 and 1.6 have been reduced. This is confirmed at PUG. As regards for the front bumper, it now costs Rs3304 + painting!

Now that's SHOCK PRICING for spares!

Note: I've personally not confirmed with the dealer!

Cheers~

Gr8 news....Finally FIAT have woken up to the changing market dynamics....Hope they don't compromise on quality now and stoop to quality yardsticks adopted by Maruti
