Wow The rear demister is something which even the VXi never had.

This one seems from Maruti unlike the Flash which was a special edition from Dealers

The features provided on the new variant are quite good, and worth having. I would have opted for this variant if it was available when my parents were looking for a car.

I'm not too impressed with the beige treatment though.

Totally agree - that these features are now factory fitted make the deal sweeter (some of these were available as dealer level options earlier.)

Seems like the new variant is ~15K higher than the current top end model. Will have to check if their advertised offer of 25K on Alto is applicable to this variant also.

The remote boot opener in Alto Xcite seems to be a stupid concept because if you want to unlock the boot; you've to use the key unlike the remote boot opener in higher segment cars !

Not sure whether I understood you, but if you pull the remote boot opener, you unlock the boot. You only have to lift it from outside without using your keys.

Did I miss something?

But in the pic, it seemed to me like that it's having a keyhole. Maybe I'm wrong !

dude, across segment it is the same. you have a remote release lever as well as a key to open the boot from outside. I'm sure you're confused.

It does have a keyhole for accessing it from outside. see above reply.
My alto did not come with the remote boot release from factory. I got the parts and retro fitted it myself. So, this bit of exciting feature is not enticing me.
The boot inner quarter panel used to come earlier and then they cut costs and stopped using it on the altos (my car did not come with it) and now they release a version with it. its only eye candy. just quick marketing.
body coloured bumpers/2 tone dash all useless uprades.
overall, good marketing move. period.

Limited Edition Maruti ALTO xcite

Maruti has relaunched the Limited Edition xfun in it's latest avatar the xcite and the later comes completely feature packed for it's class stuff that the former lacked. I own a apart from all the features that the xfun had the new xcite model also comes with front power windows, remote locking, door moudlings and internally adjustable ORVMs. Definitely a good deal considering the fact that all this comes directly from the factory and only for 16K more than the usual model.

However one word of caution to prospective buyers : As I own a xfun I can assure you that in case of replacement of limited edition parts one will have to go back to the stock spares available such as internal fittings, etc. Maruti will not provide any limited edition spares or parts such as dashboard, carpets or stickers incase of a replacement.

I saw an ad that its available for 2.89 lakhs ex-showroom chennai. It should be good VFM.

You have also made a very valid point about these limited edition spares.

if the internal adjusted ORVM's are cable operated ( and not electrical) I can think a lot of people who might want a pair

can anyone confirm?

PS : a thread on alto limited editions (including the xcite) already exists
