Linea the killer of Skoda Octavia

Just wondering. If Optra Magnum was not good enough to kill Octavia, it could be only because of its Europian connection and reliability. With Fiat Linea, being equally reliable and much cheaper, who is going to buy an Octavia? Just speculating.

, my gut feel Honda has rushed the G3HC launch to counter the Linea, look at their supply chain - old gen City still in their showrooms! Also feel Ford is getting desparate to do something on the Fiesta after putting the 1.4TDCi on the Ikon.

Linea is for sure going to be a killer car with all the specs and features provided in the price bracket. Technological wise it is for sure way ahead of Korean / Japs tin made cars. Hopefully FIAT have learned from their mistakes. FIAT already has a winner in their hands provided they play their cards well. Fiesta,Skoda, SX4 and Verna watch out....

I guess only T-Bhp is following up with the launch of Linea while the whole of India has no clue about it.
Its high time they start some good advertisement so people start looking foward to it, else they'll have serious problems with sales.

Although the car as such is very tempting, seems FIAT might be unlucky again with timing. The entire auto industry is in bad shape. Hardly anyone buying cars. And month of december to add to the woes. Going to be interesting !!

On the contrarary India is still buying 1 million cars a year sooner or later this will go up as people who have purchased cars will start buying cars after they have served the use ful period or situation has stabilised . It is only the focus that will change from cars providing Percieved value or prestige ( Skoda ? ) to companies providing real value and that is where big chance for Fiat lies .

Add to that, even the ignorant (in terms of car knowledge) people will come to know about Linea, because it will be in a Tata showroom. Non-ignorant people will anyway come to know. So, I also believe that Fiat has a very good chance this time.

As per Autocar India, Linea will be launched with two engine variants, 1300 MultiJet 90ps and 1400 Petrol 90PS. But as per this website, there are three engine variants fiatlinea.co.in . 1300 MultiJet, 1400 Petrol and 1400 Turbocharged Petrol. If this info is correct, then definately FiAT is going to rock*

*Conditions Apply (cheap spares & good After Sales Service)

fiatlinea.co.in looks like a fake website...no FIAT logos, trademark and it doesn't even look like an official website!

I doubt this information. There have been people who are working for Fiat who have told in this very forum that the petrol engine is a 95 bhp engine. The turbo petrol was not even talked about.
