Congratulations for such a long trouble free ride. When you say "Without any mechanical changes", does it mean you have not replaced the brake pads/discs, clutch assembly etc?

That is some amazing statistic, only 2 battery changes in the last 15 years. Could you please let us know how long did the company fitted battery last & then the first replacement that you made?

re: Highest reading on the odometer!

Thanks a tons AutoIndian!

Yes, there is no replacement of clutch plates though now little bit can be sensed but that is still under control.

I myself, wonder how this happened one reason could be that I have solely driven her right from the first day when she came 23 km on the odo and the best part was that my father gifted me and this was my first brand new car after i drove a second hand M-800 for 3 months.

Believe me, there are instances which proved me that she has been very lucky and auspicious for me and on many occasions saved me from gruesome accidents

The only thing was "I always cared her like my companion and drove within limits and never let anybody take charge of her and still my greatest possession".

The magic is such that I have driven many new cars till now but the pleasure which I get while driving her cannot be put in words here

Yes, the first battery change was after 7 years in 2006 (original battery was exide) and second time in 2012 ie a year back and have been using the same brand.

Recently, the car was driven after 3 months while i was on travel and started within half a self.

Even the tires (bridgestone) lasted ahead of my expectations. In fact the first time I changed to Yoko was not that great and did not last that long.

That is staggering!! Its like 400 kms everyday for the last 9 years. You've got to give it to that Qualis engine in particular and the MUV in general.

My FIL's Qualis is a 2004 old piece too, has run over 2.80 lac kms and yet to undergo an engine overhaul. And guessing from my recent 1000km drive in it, it still has a lot of life left in it.

I am sure most qualis cars in service today must have done 4-5 lakh or more. When i was in Amritsar during college days ,There was daily service of Amritsar to Chandigarh and Amritsar to Delhi by a fleet of qualis cars. Those things did incredible amounts of mileage day in and day out!!!!

Here's a shot of my old girl, a 2k1 zip plus, clocked 1.43L.
No mechanical failures /replacements at all except for the standard wear and tear. One tyre and one battery change, running full ffe for the past 40k.
Asking for a general look over now, but still as reliable as taxes.

re: Highest reading on the odometer!

Just today got my 2005 Esteem serviced at 130000 KMS.

It's running has gone down after the arrival of Scorpio. But still drives silky smooth.

re: Highest reading on the odometer!

The only vehicle I had that did over 70,000 kms is the 2004 Maruti Esteem Di. It did 120,000 km over the past 9 years and is still running. In number of years, I had the 2000 Toyota Avalon till 2010 so it ran for a whole decade but it was still under 70,000 km.
