Re: Highest reading on the odometer!

My 2010 I20 had run 1,31,898km before being sold last year. Had a lot of issues with the car but loved it to bits.

Re: Highest reading on the odometer!

Today, my 2010 make Fabia has completed 1.50 lac kms, of course showing 'age' by now but still going great, I would say.

Just 2 months back, we had a 2600 km trip to Chennai with full capacity on board, of cabin & boot too..

Re: Highest reading on the odometer!

Booked a cab from the airport to home on Sunday. The car in question is a 2012 December Maruti Suzuki DZire.

As per the driver, the engine has been untouched. He gets the oil and oil filter replaced every 7K-8K KMs. Other than regular wear and tear items and a steering rack that has started making noises, he has not had to do any other repair work on the car. The car looked clean inside and out, and without taking a looking at the odometer one would never be able to identify that it has run this much.

Highest reading on the odometer!-20190811_171934.jpg
The odo is at 3.17L KMs

I have also heard, from the VW Service Center here in Trivandrum, of a Vento TDi owned by a leading national party that has crossed 2.8L KMs and is still running without any major issues (apart from suspension parts that are frequently replaced as the car is heavily abused). This is for a car that is not regularly serviced, runs 30K KMs or more between oil changes and is driven by a large number of drivers who don't take any care of the car at all

Re: Highest reading on the odometer!

My 05’ Sonata Petrol AT completed 1,70,000 km last week. The RC will expire in October 2020 so instead of selling the car for peanuts, I’ve decided to use the car till the last day.
I Had to replace its AC compressor and condenser replaced from an FNG. Both the parts were aftermarket from Korea and costed me 23,000 including installation.

Edit: The picture was taken by my friend while I was driving.

My Uncle's office (in south africa) has field agents who attend to wind mill & solar farm routine maintenance. They do average 600-900 kms in a 14 hour work day, 6 days a week.

I must ask him some pics looking at the Elantra story above!

My 6 year XUV 500 crossed 70,000 kms last week, a difference of 1,00,000 kms. Wow, I need to drive it for another 8-9 years to reach 1.7L KMs. I definitely would have had the eagerness to keep my XUV for few more years or till it runs on a single wheel, if it was an Automatic and if it had 6 airbags. Sick and tired of manuals, after 15 years of driving them (I love driving my wife's Kwid Easy-R... feels so lovely and easy, like the kid who drives the toy cars that we see in malls). 6 airbags, may be I am getting older and a perfect family man. I have not taken my XUV for a long drive for almost 3 years now. I have kind of lost confidence in both my driving and the cars capability, with the lack of additional safety features.

I really admire the people who passionately drive their cars for years. Wishing them and all other car drivers, tons of safe miles and happy smiles.

An automatic car with a powerful engine along with additional safety features like ABS, EBD and 2 Airbags did play a role in keeping this vehicle for so long and taking it on long drives.
Also sprucing up things in mid life do help in shaking off age.

The following mods were done during the course of ownership:
1. Full repaint from black to Carneol Red in 2011. Due to change in color, I had to get a new RC from RTO with new color code. Additional bi-xenon projectors in high beam to pair with factory fitted low beam projectors.
2. Replaced HU in 2015 with a 7" touchscreen Kenwood HU and replaced fitted speakers with Morel Components along with Rockford Fosgate dual subwoofer.
3. In 2017, factory fitted leather seat cover with aftermarket leather seat covers.

Even though it returns a measly 6-7kmpl in city driving, still the overall value proposition is a lot higher compared to buying a new vehicle in its class. It is still a dependable luxo barge and i don't see any reason to give it up.

Now the ODO is at 1,71,000 after just 9 days of achieving the previous milestone.

Avg Service interval for the B11R's are 60K Kms and would cost around 38K to 40 K.

Re: Highest reading on the odometer!

Here's a 2005 Porsche 911 Cabriolet from Kerala that did 1,00,000 km and still counting. The owner says that the car was a keeper unlike other cars in his garage which were replaced over time.

A little too late but nonetheless congratulations on the beast.

You won't be disappointed one bit. All the flaws are forgotten after one drive on the highway.
7.5 years old and still puts a smile on my face.

Clocked 1.55L KMS today.

Now that's some mileage, mate.

I crossed 4k yesterday. The bonding is becoming better with each passing day. I wish to do this kind of mileage with my XUV.

My Terrano is at 1,46,0××.

Re: Highest reading on the odometer!

Sold my Punto last week. 10 years and 1,10,000 KMs later.

My 2007 Honda Civic is still going strong at 2,10,000 KMs and counting.

It's indeed true.

The owner was felicitated by Tata motors for the same.

The vehice was registered in August 2009.
