The current odo reading on my 11 yr old Swift Vxi. I used the car for a lot of highway runs in the initial years and 50k km was done in 2 years and 1lac km in just over 5 years. I've not been using my car that much of late and am wondering whether I should restore it or scrap it considering that the engine is on its last legs. Before anyone wonders how a petrol swift engine could give up so early let me make it clear that this is a result of my constant redlining the engine in the lower gears. Addictive but not without its consequences.

My brother in law's i10. It is approx 9 years old and is used almost every day. Not much rattles or squeaks.

While he wanted to get the Compass or maybe Seltos, his work does not permit him to be seen in a bigger car, so its Venue SX (O) for now. The i10 stays, apart from relay and fan and clutch, all things are stock.

4 years and 9 months. Apart from tyres and brake pads, everything is stock.

She does 120kms a day apart from the ridiculously long highway drives.

I did not know the Punto had a instrument cluster marked up to 220 Kmph.

First one is the boost gauge and the last one indicates the brake circuit pressure. The pneumatic brakes require a minimum air pressure to work and hence the engines are idled until sufficient pressure is shown on gauge.

Buses should not be part of this thread, they usually do about 20 lakh km in 5.5 years, and still get decent resale value. At current cost, and low ticket rate the breakeven itself crosses 20 Lakh km.
1900 rpm redline, 1 lakh km oil change etc means the engine will last long really long.

It would be worth knowing, how many engine re haul been done by this 10 Lakh kms driven Innova. At any case, it is sheer brilliance and shows why Toyota are preferred over any other brand for longevity.

Would appreciate if we can find out more about this. Would be like an interesting thesis on team BHP.

It completed 2L kilometers, while the Venue is on duty, it will continue to putter around and will be used when he has to catch a flight [for parking at the air-port].

This was achieved on 7th December.
